DCS: World says I need to buy another copy of A-10C?

This is probably a little bit of a round about way to do it. But when I had purchased off of steam a while back they were really late with putting out patches. So I took my steam A-10c key and downloaded the standalone A-10c game from here. When installing that it asked for my key and put it into my registry. So when I switched to DCS:World I already had the key in there.

I would say DL and install world, then get the A-10c module. It should ask you for a key when you're installing it and you should be able to use your steam key there. Once that's installed the $ sign will go away.

Here's some links for easiness: (these are English versions)

World http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en

A-10c (world module) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en

If that doesn't work, or it doesn't ask you for a key install the standalone A-10c and use your steam key there then it should work in world. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=25&end_pos=135&lang=en

it wont let you if you have not installed a serial. it will put you in spec mode.

make sure you installed the "moduale" and not the earlier full game, then enter the serial when asked. you will noticed after world is installed the moduales for each game is very small because dcs world has alreay installed everything, it just needs to unlock.

on the dcs website look for "moduales" and find dcs a-10c.

Hello Angbor, When I downloaded the World files and tried to open them I got a "insert disk" command. What can I do?

You shouldn't be 'opening' anything. You should have an exe and several bin files for DCS World. Place them all in the same folder and run the exe.

If you have a bittorrent program, note that you can use the official torrent links on the download pages. The torrent protocol includes automatic hash-checking of files, so you are protected against corrupt downloads.

Thank you all for the help. I was going to post a couple of screen shots but see that I can't do it with this reply mode. I think I'll just let it be for now. I just don't get it.

You need to click go advanced and then the paperclip icon.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Hi PeterP,

I can't thank you enough for helping me to understand how to go about loading those files. It, to me, is an invaluable lesson that I won't forget. I know now what I was doing wrong and fixed it. I get ahead of myself sometimes and miss things that are really obvious. Again, thanks a million.

You don't have to thank me - I only copy'n'paste the info that is given at Digitalcombatsimulator.com ;)

- well -I have to admit that having these links also visible after you pressed the "proceed to download" button would be a good idea... right now it is only at the top of the DCS World page.
