CTD when exiting mission

number3

Recommended Posts

After installing the latest DCS: World and A10C module, every time I start a mission and exit a mission I get a CTD.

A windows message saying the DCS has stopped. And I have the option to look for a solution online or close the program. When I close the program, DCS World reloads.

Anyone solve/have this problem?

What can I do to fix/solve it?

Anyone having the same issue at all?

Some help is greatly appreciated. I hate having to force close A10 or Su-25 every time I exit a mission or training.

It's loading from your saved games folder. have you tried deleting it so the program can rebuild it?

I deleted my saved game folder when I uninstalled the old DCS:A10 stand alone version. Then I installed DCS:World and then the A10 module.

This is a bit of a bugger, the only thing the software is doing at that point is saving your game to a file (user/savedgames)ect. You didn't rename the file did you? or relocate it so that the program is having issures saving or finding the folder.

I had the same problem on windows 8 with catalyst 12.9. I fixed it by uninstalling catalyst 12.9 and just using the stock windows 8 drivers. Everything works great now :D

Edit: I guess it was only temporary. Things aren't working any more :(

I have tried that already and at least for me, the crash still occurs. The only difference that I have noted is that I have a newer version of the C++ runtime than what was delivered with the installer, I have attached a screen shot with the versions. It could be related or not, but I thought I'd mention it.

UNCHECKING the 'disable Aero interface' on my Win8 machine solved the CTD on exiting missions. Logical I guess, since Win8 doesn't use the aero interface. Only had time to test it once, but went from 100% crashing, to working.

I too am running Windows 8 consumer preview and I've tried all suggestions here with no go. I can fly all day long but when I exit a mission it crashes at 96% now.

Here is the culprit according to Event Viewer

Faulting application name: Launcher.exe_DCS, version: 1.2.1.6192, time stamp: 0x505235cc

Faulting module name: lua-dxgui.dll, version: 1.2.1.6192, time stamp: 0x505235f9

Well at this moment in time I really can't justify redoing my setup just to play a game, er sim :) so hopefully it gets fixed soon or I can figure something else out to do on my end. Thankfully I can still fly it's just my flights aren't logged and I have to restart DCS each time but it is better than nothing.

Same here ;) Win 8 Customer Prev. Tried to do clean reinstall of DCS, intalling VC++ supplied with it didn't help as well. Setting disable aero interface to off did the job for one mission, and after that everything returned to previous state. Well, I guess some patch will be released shortly. There's not much time left to WIN8 official release ;)
