Rockets on the su25t kill performance 40 fps down to 5fps...thats WAY too much a drop. They are basically bringing the game to a dead halt. Why is this happening?

121 updated as of today.Rockets when they hit the ground is what I mean...not in flight. So I guess we're talking explosions in general really.

Didn't read your post properly, let me check now.

OK: Just fired off a whole load of S-5's (four pods worth) and had a slight drop in FPS but nothing like what you're having/

Tried it out and didn't have an issue. I set my MaxFPS to 30 though and everything runs smooth no matter what is going on.

Albeit I haven't flown over a Smerch launch yet..

Just tried the Rocket training mission for the SU-25T, noticed that when i fired my rockets and also viewed the rocket explosions in my Shkval then i'm also getting a massive FPS drop from 40 (my capped FPS value) down to 8 FPS.

Also fired rockets without the Shkval turned on and only getting a drop of about 4 FPS for a second after they impacted.

Since I started using 3 monitors I am now finding I am getting very bad FPS hit when salvo of rockets hit/explode... it's even without shkval being on. My FPS go down from about 20 to 4, seems like about same ratio from OP (he gets 40 to 8). This FPS does seems very extreme.

No longer active in DCS...

I was testing yesterday evening (did update first) and I was spectating an MRLS and it was causing quite a large FPS drop every time a rocket hit the ground.

happening to me too..

I have been chasing fps ever since i updated DCS WORLD. I still crash to a paltry 7 fps when ever there is a rocket impact. I havent tested the CBU yet but I'm not optimistic.

i am locked at 31 fps in my config lua but... wow do the rocket hits ever kill my fps.

I do hope it can be optimized further.

I cannot play Black shark at all I get these frame rate death rocket strikes from mi-24's and I hate them. Man I hope this gets fixed with the next patch, this is a big issue.

Same thing happens to me with rockets in the A-10C. Frame rate plummets from 40-30 to 8-5.

Cross posting from my thread. This is for 1.2.2

I've found that removing ground, ground1 and ground2 from the medium and high folders in \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Effects\PFX will eliminate the problem. Removing low seems to have little effect.
