World Vs FC3

Recommended Posts

Can someone explain to me what is the difference between World and FC3? Are they two different sims or will FC3 fit into world etc? Thanks. : Thumbup:

The latter. It will just be more than one aircraft at a lesser detail level.

FC3 will be a module for DCS World and multiplayer compatible, it will coming with the vertion 1.2.2 of DCS World this month if everything going well, so yes FC3 will "fit into" DCS World like CA or A10C, KA-50, P-51D and UH-1H.

FC3 will adding middle level simulation (simplified) aircraft, the SU-25, the Mig-29 the SU-27 the SU-33, the A10A and the F-15C, 3D cockpit but not clickable and simplified avionic, the flight model will be better than the one in FC2 but i don't think it will be the AFM except for the SU-25.

Read this :

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1541527#post1541527

The main thing FC3 will give to DCS World will be the plane, considerate FC3 like an aircraft pack for DCS World, same level than the SU-25T for the SU-25 and better level than other FC2 aircraft for the rest, also it will change air to air flight dynamic and add some features.

And about :

"Resource Manager that adds logistics control to missions.

Expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia.

Countless other improvements in the areas of the mission editor, special effects, new models, improved terrain detail and AI."

I don't know if they talk about what DCS World already have compare to FC2 or if it was new feature for DCS World.

But basically FC3 will be like CA except that it will be new aircraft and now new ground vehicle.

I hope u have help you.

Since we are playing with 7 digit version numbers these days, I am not so sure. Previously I would be inclined to agree as well. I was actually curious if there was a source for the info.

From this :

We will now be focusing on DCSW 1.2.2, FC3 and the final version of CA.

(+1 mwd2)

And cause the next patch, the 1.2.2 will coming soon and initially FC3 was expected for September but report to October, so it will coming this month with the patch 1.2.2 and i don't think we will reach the 1.2.3 this month.

And except if something goes wrong FC3 come really soon, its a question of week/days.

Where does it say 1.2.2 will be coming this month. Typical turn around, in the past, for a full version change has been several months. There is no reason for the auto-updater, or anything else, to cause that to change.

I can see how one would draw a logical conclusion that 1.2.2 and FC3 may be related in feature set and thus share a similar release date (although this is pure speculation). To say however that it just IS coming out this month is beyond speculation and just saying things for the sake of saying them. Unless you know something I don't?

It was my (assumed) understanding that version 1.2.1 was the version to make World compatible with FC3. I'd also assume any updates needed for World due to changes in FC3 could be covered by a mini patch via autoupdater.

A few assumptions there.. but that is what i'd put my money on.

Are all the other FC2 aircraft such as the A10A, Su-27, Su-33 etc going to be intergrated into World aswell and fully usable online or just the F15C? Is that the reason why you need the original lock on?

Yes they will all be available, at release. Unless i'm very mistaken.

Mastiff, they will all be available. But only the F15c has received an updated cockpit. (going be last announced info)

Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 (FC3) is the next evolution of the Flaming Cliffs series. FC3 features the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-29A, MiG-29S, Su-25T, and Su-25. FC3 aircraft provide an easy learning curve for new players and focuses on a broad range of aircraft rather than a detailed single aircraft. FC3 adds a number of new features and improvements to previous versions of the Flaming Cliffs series. FC3 is a module of DCS: World, which makes it compatible with all other DCS: World titles like A-10C, Black Shark 2, P-51D, and Combined Arms.

Quoted from Wags's official announcement.

My guess is just one little tag for the module. It's already getting crowded down there. ;)
