Fullscreen With Helios 16-18 FPS with 8xMSAA

Fullscreen With Helios 32-40 FPS No MSAA

As you can Tell I'm running 2 1080p monitor resolution with DCSA10 v1.1.1.1

Please Only Post if you are willing to take the time post your system specs and settings and which Patch version of A10 You are running.

I'm really curious to compare my specs to others that are also running Helios with 2 monitors and FullScreen softTH.

25 at preset medium without Helios, 2560x1440 on main monitor and 1080 on the second one.

With Helios 13 average.

That's running the latest DCS World, on A-10C 1.1.1.1 at medium I was getting between 30 and 50 with 2 monitors at the same resolution without Helios.

My up to date specs are below

I don't think a lot of people still run version DCSA10 v1.1.1.1.

Most have upgraded to World 1.2.1

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind combat pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

30+ at 3840x1792 most of the times in 1.2.1.

But I also locked them to 30 via a graphics.cfg edit-

that is the smoothest experience I can get

- getting FPS above 60 makes no sense as it is over the refresh rate of my monitor(s) and will only produce tearing - and getting below 60 also produce tearing and irritating jumps in FPS with V-sync on.

So:

Locking DCS to 30FPS seems the best solution for the smoothest experience as long you don't have hardware that allows you to get a constant 60FPS all time .

Have also a read here:FPS

BTW: after the latest micro-patches there is no real excuse any-more not to install 1.2.1. and still use 1.1.1.1 .

The performance for me is on par with the Frames I got before 1.2.1 was released.

Sorry, I dont have time to get the screenshot of the settings but I am running 4080x2160 in dcs world 1.2.0

I dont have soffth turned on right now but my frames did not vary when I do have it on. I get ~36 frames with helios and all exports running and I get ~42 frames with helios off but all exports still running.

i5@4.5ghz with 8 gigs ram. my settings are similar to yours but I have clutter/bush maxed and I have 4xmsaa.

Is aero being disabled when you run dcs? Thats the only thing I have seen account for such a drop in FPS when running helios.

Halios requires that Windows Aero is turned on, otherwise you will experience a significant FPS hit...

Just posting to remind you to check your aero setting on the off chance that you have not already enabled it....

I beg to disagree. I've got my FPS and vertical sync both locked at 60, and still get smooth performance even when the actual framerate drops far below (not counting MLRS launches though, because they're a bloody slideshow). The secret is using NVidia's adaptive vertical sync tear control since it actually even works in smoothing those FPS spikes and jerks out ;)

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

What you mean Peter is you get that you get no degrade in performance with your hardware, others have slower hardware so the transition to 1.2.1 is more severe for others. So no need to say theres not reason not to upgrade. Anyway what are your hardware specs Peter I don't see yours posted, CPU, Mobo, Ram, Harddrive...etc.

Which micro patches are you referring to?

I am getting horrible fps. Most times I'm down to single digit granted I have a low-end system: i3 530 1156 socket, 4 GB ram and HD 4600 series. It's so bad I rarely fly more than 15 minutes. It appears people with beefy system, i5 3570K, do man-handle the 1.2.1, but upgrading is not an option as I just bought an Intous. This really sucks.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
