Radio Options Black, Won't respond

I'm flying a JTAC training mission and I have easy radio settings. when i bring up the radio menu I get

 

1 Wingman (its black in color)

2 Flight (black)

3 Second Element (black)

4 JTACs (Black)

5 ATC (White)

6 Tankers (Grey)

7 Awacses (white)

 

AWACs and ATC respond but I get no response from my flight or from JTAC

 

I noticed that at the top of the menu it says MAIN VHF AM

JTAC is on 30.00mhz FM and its set at 30 I tried switching the various dials to FM but nothing changes on the menu.

 

and yes i have my Track IR mapped so there isn't any conflict.
