Looks like they have done a lot of work the last 2 months! Overall performance gain is quite huge. Ready to test this one ;)

EDIT: The performance gain for 7970 is quite small actually. I hope the flickering I have in DCS goes away.

No, that'll be in november and it'll most likely be the exact same driver but with an MS WHQL stamp of approval (source from Guru3d)

"Here you can download AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta 32 and 64-bit for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 The new driver has had some TLC from AMD, improving overall performance on a number of games. AMD's Never Settle Catalyst 12.11 driver will be available as a non-WHQL beta. A WHQL version will follow later on in November."

Just so you know, installed fine on my 6850 and has been running great in DCS.

I seemed to gain with my hd6770 hd5770 crossfire setup, not much but anything is good :)

I fired up my old system with the 7970 and installed these over my 12.4 drivers. Seemed to intsall OK. Screen blinked only once and it did not ask for a reboot. Did a quick test in ROF and saw a bit of FPS increase. I usually uninstall and sweep the old drivers before updating, but not this time.

driver sweeps are only really unnecessary after a failed install, switching GPU Maker (from AMD-> nVidia).

I've only had to do a driver sweep when my 7950 died earlier this year and I had to revive my 8800GTS for Temp Duty Assignment.

"The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity...

I got he 12.11 beta 7 today and they seem to work pretty well

EDIT: I also noticed Adoptive Multi-sample AA I use works little better (better image will less shimmering on grass textures)... and I use 4xAA in game options only and it seems quite enough

No longer active in DCS...
