mrniel
considered testing a long range P51 mission ? I keep reading about how they flew to berlin and back. on other missions you also hear those planes beeing away for hours on end. So I thought it could be interresting to test the DCS Mustang with full fuel and see if one can approxcimate those range and mission length. Was trying to find a distance in DCS world that would be equal to east england - berlin distance and then perhaps do a sunday test, as it would take some time even with a bit of time compression. Would ANAPA -Tbilizi would be approximate a distance equal to london area - Berlin trip ?
cichlidfan
Would ANAPA -Tbilizi would be approximate a distance equal to london area - Berlin trip ? You will be short about 150 miles. About 580 from London to Berlin but only about 435 from Anapa to Tbilisi. EtherealN
Fly Anapa to Vladikavkaz(Beslan), turn sout to Tbilisi, turn west to Kutaisi. Then return the same way. That's roughly London-Berlin. (EDIT: And damn you, now you got me thinking about starting some long-flying again. >.< ) Edited October 22, 2012 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Think Ill. set it up in the mission editor, and try it out one of the next sudays when i have time, the critical part will probably be if i can manage fly without using to much fuel, better find that mustang manual and see what throttle setting and altitude gives the best range.
