Deadman
One question have you made any necessary corrections to the manual or have they been done all ready. Have you check with ED to confirm this is the last up date to the manual? https://www.shapeways.com/shops/a-10c-warthog-supplies https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans. Have you check with ED to confirm this is the last up date to the manual? According to Derelor, the version included with v1.2.1 contains all corrections to errors that he is currently aware of. It might not be 100% perfect but it should be about as close as we are likely to get, or need, for that matter. tintifaxl
For that price, I'll buy a tablet and read the manuals on that. It seems that small run printing cost is not economical at all. MTFDarkEagle
Perfect bound method might be an issue for durability...? That's something which is holding me back actually.. If they would offer a ring bound or something similar I would seriously consider purchasing it. cichlidfan
This is true but for the price I was willing to give it a shot. I still have an old version, 3 ring bound, but it is pretty ratty now. EDIT: If I printed it myself, FedEx Kinkos would charge me nearly as much just to drill and spiral bind (two volumes). That is/was my alternative plan. chaotikchiken
That's something which is holding me back actually.. If they would offer a ring bound or something similar I would seriously consider purchasing it. The only probem with going with the ring bound is the limitation in pages. For that size manual, the maximum amount of pages it can have is only 400. I'm not sure of any other way except for splitting it up, which I guess isn't the worst thing, but might be annoying for some to have to buy multiple manuals for the complete edition. I'm open to ideas  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Old System Specs: OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU: AMD Pnehom II x6 1090T MOBO: Asus M4A88TD-V GPU: EVGA 01G-P3-1371-AR GeForce GTX 460 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) HDD: Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K3000 2TB PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Monitor: Gateway FHD2400 24" (1920x1200) Mouse: Logitech G9x Extras: LG WH10LS30 BD Burner Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Sharkoon SR 5.1 Surround Headset Thrustmaster T1600 Joystick
Steel Jaw
Two ring bounds is a drag but I would go for that over the perfect bound method. Of course, not if it drastically increases the price. The problem with perfect bound method is that one crack open too far destroys the binding. Cheers. Packages that I should have received on Tuesday are probably delayed until Friday, if not later  And thanks cichlidfan for clarifying an earlier post about the version (I've been without power the last few days and barely had a chance to come on here). Just to clarify again, these manuals are from the most recent versions available from ED's documentation area I've also posted my available pictures thus far from the A-10C Warthog manual, and will post more once I have the time too :smilewink: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Old System Specs: OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU: AMD Pnehom II x6 1090T MOBO: Asus M4A88TD-V GPU: EVGA 01G-P3-1371-AR GeForce GTX 460 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) HDD: Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K3000 2TB PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Monitor: Gateway FHD2400 24" (1920x1200) Mouse: Logitech G9x Extras: LG WH10LS30 BD Burner Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Sharkoon SR 5.1 Surround Headset Thrustmaster T1600 Joystick
Kegetys
I had mine made as two ring bound manuals and I think it works very well. The manual splits nicely between "cockpit controls" and "startup procedures" (both have their own indexes for mine and also some added appendices, I tried to fix the page numbers automatically for the second part also but failed). The two-split just makes it easier to handle in my opinion, you really just need one at a time anyway and the smaller size is then better than one huge book. My only nag with lulu ring binding is that the cover & back are not very thick, it makes the whole manual a bit floppy. Thick cardboard like in the official Ka-50 manual would be better. jj_pt
Just received the black and white versions of the 3 manuals. Very nice quality. Thank you for the initiative! :book: Wow, the color versions are very expensive, but I'm not sure if printing it in a color printer by ourselves wouldn't cost a similar price.
