G940 discontinued?

Recommended Posts

Well, I thought, I was going to check it on Amazon and grab it for 100 bucks or so. Because, it is discontinued product, right? But, the price of few remaining G940 went up, to my surprise.

  • 1 month later...

I watched the dates on a couple boxs of these. They were made in a big run and then production stopped.

China filled the order and then prayed for sales.

Toaster ovens can be made in china and sit in warehouses for years before they are sold out. Typical practice in china.

Got bad memories from the G940, after my brothers 2 7.1 sound systems fail on him and my disfuctional G940, both with woefull support from the brand, I sworn I would never purchase anyhting from Logitech again.

Just so you know, I needed to purchase a mouse for mechwarrior online game, between a steelseries and a logitech costing half the price with same ammount of buttons I still chose the steelseries.

Logitech is only good for the garbage bin. :)

I have to disagree. Logitech Mice are some of the most popular, solid products on the planet. The G940 had its problems but it does work for alot of people. The mods and lengths and troubles people have gone through to make it more precise is no less than jaw dropping. Until Thrustmaster or ( the world ) can make a more reliable system for a reasonable cost. I think that even three years later the G940 is worth considering using until you can graduate to the superior Thustmaster Stick and a siatek pedal set up.

About the only thing Logitech does right are mouse. They last longer than any other peripherals I have.

I have a G15 kb that has lasted 5-6 years, been through 4 moves. The only thing wrong with it is the back lighting flickers sometimes.

I've been really, really satisfied with their wheels - currently G25 which is almost perfect for my needs; still have Momo and Driving Force Pro wheels which I don't use anymore.

I feel that with G940 they've just probed the hard core HOTAS market. If they found that there is a place for them, they'll come back with superior product. Do not underestimate their R&D department and experience on the gaming controller market ...

Now, I don't want to talk about horrible customer support department ...

I have been on Logitech Keyboards for longer than I can remember , over ten years. All SOLID. The current G15 works for me since forever it seems like.. over five years.

i had one for two days, returned-refunded. due to the golf ball size slop in the FFB and rudder pedal spikes. G940 should have never been on the shelves, IMO.

doing some research when i had it, here are some fixes i found.

They should have just made it a $500.00 setup instead of cutting corners. Sales of tm wh show that people are willing to pay for quality..now it's too late. Good idea, piss poor execution.
