red2112 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Hi folks, My SST soft profiler (X52) dosent seem to work right on BS/DCS, freezes once ingame. So I just set up my X52 in DCS controls UI and save it. Iam not the only one with problems with the SST soft, so much for that. Is there any other soft (free) that can create profiles for X52 and that works? Thanks in advance! Care, Red...out [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Toast Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I don't know of other software to use. I do know that some people have programed everything in game and not use sst at all. so that is one option. You are not the only one to have trouble with SST. I have had tons of crashes and headaches. What finally worked for me to be stable was before I load a profile I launch task manager and go to services and disable saitek directOutput, that was what was messing mine up. Other people have had have to go to profile and make sure enable clutch is not checked. Hope you get it sorted out I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one and I am sure others will have suggestions. QVidal Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 The freeze problem might be caused by the X52 not being able to display long button names. When you press a button the name of the command assigned to this button is displayed on the throttle, if this name is too long the X52 freezes. Apart from that I never had a problem with my X52, neither with old versions of BS and A-10C or with the DCS World modules.
red2112 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Iam using windows 7, and aim not to familiar with it and don´t know where to find "direct output". As for long discription´s on the X52 throttle MFD, it´s not the case, as what it displays is defult "trigger", "fire 1", "fire 2"...etc. Thanks to both! Care... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I have had tons of crashes and headaches. Another shortcoming of SST is that you cannot program two buttons for one function. For instance if I want to make button 7 on my X52 Pro the 'alternate function' button, which will temporarily modify the function of other buttons, it can't be done. Different Modes notwithstanding, you can only program each button alone to do only one thing. Another reason not to use SST IMO.
