Peripheral Purchasing

Hello all,

 

Despite my 2 week battle with DCS-a10's intense learning curve, I am starting to grasp the beginnings of being able to comprehend this game.

 

I want the experience to be as realistic and seamless as possible, so I've decided I'll be purchasing a throttle+joystick and other Peripherals.

 

Other than those two pieces of gear I found a "Premium Head Tracking" device which seems to be the coolest looking thing since steel battalion's 200 dollar crazy desktop controller.

thanks thats all i needed to hear ... i couldn't imagine how easy its going to be to set all my switches and look at my panels while actually in a combat setting without something that tracks your head movement.... cant wait until amazon has the TaS in stock, anyone know of a website currently selling besides ebay?

Pretty much same setup as I have, except I have the Saitek Combat Pedals, rather than the Pro Pedals - don't know what the difference might be, the picture looks the same...

 

You will be very happy with those periphs!

All good as everyone has said, these are the pedals that i use, very good, they lack the angle adjustment, but they are significantly cheaper,

Jep, go for it.

 

I pondered between the saitek pro flight, and the saitek combat pedals. What convinced me: with the proflight your entire foot rests on the pedal, but with the combat pedals your heel is resting on the base, not the pedal.

The only downside to getting those items is that you're going to be playing with the best kit right off the bat.. and thus not going to really appreciate how good the equipment you're buying is ;)

 

Believe me when I say that there's no other HOTAS on the market that's feels as precise or as sturdy and well made as the WH right out of the box. Everything other HOTAS that I've had over the years felt like a toy. The WH feels like it was ripped from the aircraft itself. I still remember the feeling of awe when I first unpacked it. Almost as good as the first time I finally "got" BS and could fly without crashing.

Order from Amazon now, they won't charge you until it ships and they will email you when they have an shipping date giving you ample warning, and cancel the order if you find it elsewhere. I noticed the other day that New Egg had it discontinued.

 

EDIT: Just found this, forget Amazon, though not available for a month, they appear to have a delivery date, and the price is pretty good.
