Got my Cougar MFDs and they are great! Currently got them blutacked to a spare monitor I had lying around and they add so much to the game :)

I'm thinking of what to do next, and I've stripped the bezel from the monitor so I can overlay my own creation. However I'm not sure what to do with the cables from the MFDs....

The MFDs need to be at the top (if I'm going for anything approaching the correct layout) but the cables come out at the bottom and are going to look unsightly.

What have other people done with theirs? :helpsmilie:

The backs of the MFDs are held on with a few small screws. I was considering removing the back to see if a) it made the MFD thinner whilst still being useable and b) allowing more options for running the cable.

Don't want to break one though :)

Clever idea. Not sure what I could make those out of though. I've not exactly got a fully kitted out workshop :)

I guess I need some black plastic box tubing of some sort....

i don't have full workshop either.

something like this (my first holder) can be done in a very simple way,

bill of materials:

vynil or plastic drywall edging from hardware store, some sort of glue, utility knife. dremel will help lots, modelling filler putty if you want everything to look good, spray-paint. one evening worth of work.

well my has also some round pieces i found in my scrap bin but nothing crucial.

enough room for MFD wires : view from behind.

Anton.
