WildBillKelsoe Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hello, I just downloaded and installed EDM viewer. However, I get the orange warning missing textures paint job. What is the file or directory I need to mount the texture? There are alot of textures, and I want to know which one works for EDM. I'll post any other questions here. Thanks in advance. WildBillKelsoe Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 ED model viewer is an application developed by ED, allows one to load the .EDM files and view textures on them. It also allows developers to view their WIP models, and animations as well. Still waiting for answers guys! AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Grimes Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I was un-aware of the need to download the model viewer, it should be installed along with DCS. While there is a modelviewer.exe it always crashes on me if I attempt to launch it as a normal application. However, I simply use a batch file located within the root install folder that executes the following code to launch the model viewer and it works just fine. bin\ModelViewer.exe When you load a model the textures should be already on it. You can use the Dialogs>show Livery Dialog to switch between the different available liveries for the selected model. If its a custom model, I can't be much help as I haven't tried importing anything into the sim for a while. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. joey45 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 You need to put the files in the temp texture folder of the model viewer. They need to be in BMP 24 bit format with the correct file name. To find out the file name just load up the model and there is a load of text on the left hand side and that should tell you. Hope this helps. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
