TheMoose Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) I just installed it, went through the YouTube tutorials. However unable to record, able to capture screenshots though, but no video. Even the overlay of showing the FPS is not showing up. Wanted to try afterburner on the extent that seems its less taxing on the CPU then fraps and from what I can see the results are better, however if it’s not working then it's not that better after all lol Is it because i'm on a 64bit OS? Anyhow if anyone knows how this thing works I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance. Eight Ball Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Tested it like a year ago and it didn't work. Don't know what's the problem, it works fine with other games. You might want to try Bandicam, allows 10min recording and seperate files for audio and video (with various option such as frequency, bitrate, quality, etc) The hit on performances seems a bit smaller than fraps, you can set a FPS limiter to avoid sutters. You can also take screenies in various format (JPEG, BMP, PNG) The only minus with the trial version is a fairly large watermark on top of the screen (bigger than fraps one) but you can easily crop your vid in your video editor software. I've tried many recording tools (free or demo) and BD is by far the best I've found so far. Edited January 26, 2013 by Eight Ball Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)
Jona33 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 It worked fine in FC2. I'll try DCS world. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
TheMoose Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Found a new one to try, called dxtory. I'll give it a try... EDIT: wow this one actually works great :) a keeper for me  Edited January 26, 2013 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. Erforce Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) MSI AB wokrs fine for me in DCW BS2. but i'll check your new toy too ;) Edit : Ok, finally, i'll stick with MSI for the moment. -Dxtory cost 33€ and can record up to (only) 720p, from what i've read. His Website doesn't inspire me. had to "google searched" the price! -FRAPS, being less "thread optimized" costs 30€, well known, and can record up to 7680x4800. -MSI : is free :D but can have trouble to know how it works. It didnt worked today, i don't know why. Made the update to 2.3.1 and followed instruction HERE. Now it works like a charm. Testing H264vfw 30FPS@1200p atm. EDIT 2 : I AM SORRY, I've diggged further. It appears you're absolutely RIGHT ! I've got lag (when zoomed in)sometimes with MSI AB, lack of cursor game appearance, hard to use to video afterwards etc.. I've tried DxTory, after some hours reasearching pro and cons. Fraps Demo is a real s**t to uninstall, and Dxtory can easy the livestreaming process. I've recorded a 60fps@1200p real smooth video on BS2, at max setting. I will make more tests soon. Very good suggestion TheMoose. In fact, 3600Yens is 29.5€ ;) Edited January 27, 2013 by Erforce TASK / ROLES acronyms guide Black Shark A.I. datalink guide illustrated (v1.2.4 Available on Wiki) DCS World Codex 1.1 : full units list (Speed/Weapons/Armor thickness/Threat zone/Weapon damage...)
