25 years later I gave in to the dark side (old hobby).

Hey gents.

After years of looking at toy stores I finally gave in to the child in me and returned to this old hobby of mine, check the photo below. :)

I got a small bonus at work and I took the plunge today.

This box alone has more pieces than my old sets (and my brothers) combined. LEGO's used to be out of reach for the common of mortals back then. Suprisingly the prices are no different today even with all these years of accumulated inflation.

this one has over 3100 pieces.

Later on I might purchase seperate parts to rebuild the discontinued Millenium falcon set #10179 with over 5000 pieces. That one was AWSOME and I must have it somehow.

I will post more pictures as I build it, but its going to take several days.

I've been wanting to get a part time job at the nearby Lego store for years. Lack of space is the only reason I don't have a few of those.

Have lots of fun and take lots of pics.

this part is already very long, I had to be very carefull and the triangle plates have a tendency to come off (few studs to mate on).

BTW I found out why LEGO chose parts of differemt colors to make the internals. it would be IMPOSSIBLE to folow the instructions otherwise. You would never tell where each part fits where. the contrast in the midle of this massive set really helps and some reviwers mentioned they didnt know why there would be color parts on a grey model... :D

First section COMPLETE!

not bad for 2 hours of work I though it would take longer.

the struts on the underside are present but as you know they will be left somewhat undone when finished, LEGO didnt think there should be too much detail where it doesnt need to to save price, but it would be nice to have an extra tall stand for this effect. maybe in a re-edition who knows.

need take a rest, tomorrow theres more. :)

I can't wait until you think you have finished and have 3 pieces left over. We're then going to petition you to start all over again and get it right!
