DJ 9mm Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 i was flying along in an Su-27 on the AEF server, and suddenly exploded for apparently no reason. after reviewing the track and acmi file, i can't figure out why i exploded at 9:39:04. no missile hit me, no one was shooting at me, and no one was near me. is this a bug? i've attached the acmi file. the track file was too big to upload as an attachment, even when compressed.Tacview-20130129-204721_sudden_death.txt.acmi.zip
EtherealN Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I dont have a computer right now to check acmi with, but one way for this to happen is if there is network lag or packet loss. Thus a missile was maybe launched, but your computer did not know because of packet loss. Then, after thwe server sees missile impact, it sends message to your computer saying you are dead. Then, boom. DJ 9mm Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 i see. that makes sense. i had downed an F-15 maybe a minute before, and he fired no missiles, which i thought was strange. maybe he really did, but my game client didn't get the message until it hit me. thanks.
Azraeil Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Someone else complained of this in a blue SU-25T. Probably something buggy going on as we had just reintroduced Tankers and AWACS into that mission.
