Mandrake5 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Anyone else sick of cowardly weasels disconnecting just before they die? Happened to me twice tonight, first guy i caught cold at 10nm, he dc'd as soon as my aim120 went pit bull, the second idiot caught my slammer then hit exit before he crashed, denying me the kill. These people clearly lack the mental strength to deal with losing a game, so how about overruling their innate cowardice by building in a disconnect timer, which counts down from 30 secs before you quit the game or change aircraft? And yes, I realise that by coincidence these guys could have crashed to desktop at the telling moment, however life has taught me that this is very unlikely :smartass:
Grimes Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Its still a kill since you possibly made them disconnect. Thats one less enemy in the sky. :) The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Or you can contact server admin and post your track as proof...
159th_Viper Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 ....denying me the kill.... Why is this important? VH-Rock Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 This used to happen in IL-2 all the time - hugely frustrating. I have similar experiences in my server too though... I do not allow weapons in my server and when there's a group of 5 or 6 of us flying formation aerobatics, there's always some idiot that rearms his aircraft and blows us out the sky... It's either ignorance (not reading the mission brief) or just plain stupidity - but it sure is frustratiing!:joystick: Virtual Horsemen - Right Wing (P-51) - 2008... In FC3 unfortunately the kill is not registered in the 'Pool' or on server messages when this happens. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

And yes, I realise that by coincidence these guys could have crashed to desktop at the telling moment, however life has taught me that this is very unlikely :smartass: Make disconnect count as a death. This is how it works on playstation network when playing Tekken for instance. Of course in lomac it's not 1 vs 1 so the "winner" can not be awarded a kill, but if you make the disconnect count as a death, then the lamer would have no gain by pulling the plug cause it would still count as a death . [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 And what if the network dumps him? Perhaps the lamers are also the ones who have this huge need to see their score updated on the board? It causes them to do funny things like suicide runs because hey, they still get a kill. That's not what air to air is about ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
JG14_Smil Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Air to air is about making a kill streak and becoming an ace. So yes, people want their kills. It is why they invested their time and it is why it is so important to build safegaurds that prevent idiots from ruining other peoples time. If you win just by making a person exit the sim, why not just act like a total ahole until they all leave and you sit alone, victorious? Cat vs Rooster - "chicken!" "prissy!!" for the record, I don't even care... :) enjoy Edited February 5, 2013 by JG14_Smil 1
