setting up new server - plz help!

I have installed World on my old PC to use it as server only. Because i dont want to let my sim-pit machine run all day and night.

Here's the problem:

Both machines are connected via cable to my fritzbox.

I was already able to host games on my sim-pit machine (port forwarding, etc...)

But when i now want to host with the "server"machine (other ip), it doesn't show up at the internet servers, only as lan.

I tried to portforwarding with the new ip-adress (server) and 10308, but then fritzbox says that this is not possible, because i already use this 10308 port for the simmachine.

So my question:

which other portnumber can i use so that i and others can connect to my server via internet?

Any help is appreciated...

Check 'internet' instead of 'LAN' when 'start new server'.

Any port you set will do, but needs to be forwarded. The pit doesnt need 10308 ingoing so it needs to be changed to the other machine ofcourse otherwise you'll only see inranet as you do now.

Well, no luck so far... i portforwarded the server machine and tried to connect vial internet, but i only see my server in lan mode. When i try to connect i sometimes get an windows errormessage like dcs isnt working anymore...

Maybe this errormessage will get sorted out with 1.2.3 but i have no clue why i dont see my server in "internet"??

Or do i have to connect via Lan to my server and others from outside see the server via internet?

UPDATE:

I mangaed to connect with the server engine to the pit engine. I had to connect via lan, other pilots suddenly joined via internet. So i think i was also visible for other users.

Then i tried to do the same vice versa. Changed port forwarding for the server-pc ip but no one joined. I could join via "lan".

QUESTION:

is it possible to use a clean install of DCS:World without any other modules as server?

Or do i have to install my modules? But then i have to use one of my serials. Is it then possible to use my modules for the pit machine with the same serials? For the server i use another account.... so many questions, i know :(

Okay you're jumbling this on your own. One step at a time:

Put your server on Internet- make sure all connection speeds on your computers are set to LAN.

Take all tankers out of missions or fly only missions with no tankers.

Make sure any mission you host in mp you have opened in your mission editor on your server computer and saved again.

When you join on the other computer it will ONLY be on LAN- because it IS on a LAN. People were joining meaning they could see it on the open master server list.

When you choose LAN game NOBODY will join unless you give them your IP- they will only be ale to direct connect. Conversely if you put up an INTERNET game people will not be able to Join via IP.

You don't need other modules installed on the server.

your server pc is set to INTERNET host and is port forwarded. 10308 this is so it is publicly viewable

you sim pit pc is set to LAN to play on your server on your local network this is how you see your game on your lan. (your sim pit is not internet connected to play via your own local ip)

option 2

set your port forwarding for your SERVER to another port say 10310 ? or somthing else right..

and leave your SIM PIT port forwarded to 10308 (or vice versa)

that way you can host on either PC depending on what you are doing ! ?
