Sorin
As I have written above, there are zero compatibility settings except "ambient occlusion" which is irrelevant for DCS (that stuff is for first person shooter games).
SkateZilla
Nvidia does, it always has, under Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark. I assume they never changed it's name because it's the same executable for dcs a10c & bs when stand alone and now dcs world (dcs.exe) I'll say it again, there are no MULTIPLE GPU PROFILES for DCS in either one (AMD or nVidia)'s Drivers. nVidia still has residual BS1 Profiles, but all it does is turn off A.O., it's not a SLI Profile. SkateZilla
yop, fanboys stay fanboys, and i am not one of them :smilewink: i can tell you, i had the excact same card (Sapphire 6GB 7970GHz), and it could not beat the titan. But i dont want to start this discussions again, sorry. And I doubt you had it at 1300Mhz Core/6800MHz Memory, because it took the AMD Overclockers Team a week to get it stable, which required a cooling modifications, Power Modifications, not to even mention 1.4v GPU, and upwards of 1.8v for the GDDR5. danilop
One application where Titan, being very modest in power requirements / cooling department, has no competition is boutique, high-end gaming rig built on mini ITX or micro ATX board in something like BitFenix Prodigy, Silver Stone FT03 or similar very portable miniature case. There is considerable interest in such a builds, and not everyone want / need big, noisey case with high airflow (gazillion fans) with insanely OCed graphics cards in triple or quad arrangement powered by 1.5kW monster PSU ... apparently. SkateZilla
Titan's can barely be overclocked, Heavy heat and locked voltage... Dont get me wrong, out of the box, Titan dominates everything. But the 2 things Above (Heat and Locked Voltage) are it's downfall, because experienced Overclockers will simply take a 6GB 7970 and Water cool it w/ custom block and heatsinks. and save themselves $300-400/Card. SkateZilla
<<-- is AMD Sponsored, so you can safely say Im bias'd, and I'll admit it, But i can also admit Defeat to the GTX Titan for a Single Card Solution. But in not spending $4000 on a Quad SLI Setup, when I can spend $1200 on a Quad XFire Setup that will keep my monitors at the Refresh rate they operate on. There's only 1 Titan BIOS, so there's no point in flashing it to gain control over the Voltage. Slayer
TITAN is made for multi-monitor , 690 can't hold a candle to it in this arena...only 2GB is really available as a framebuffer(as with any SLI setup) X-Plane 10 for example eats 2 GB not even close to max settings...few others come to mind as well. Looking forward to not doing the tweaking settings dance to keep it below that... danilop
I think that Nvidia is waiting for the AMD answer to cut the prices of the Titan down (Nvidia basically have single GPU market for themselves ATM so they really don't have to think about the price) or to introduce another design based on GK110. Titan is luxuriously made - magnesium enclosure, etc so there is plenty of space for price cut. Titan vs. GTX 690 It's obvious that Titan will beat or come extremely close to 690 as drivers improve and new games start to get optimized for GK110. Crysis 3 is good example (2:17 in the video). tintifaxl
The Titan is an phenomenal piece of hardware, but will not play a major role. Very good for us sim nuts, but who else needs it? To me AMD offers the much better price/performance ratio atm, and the AMD7970 is on par with the GTX680 and cheaper. So imho the gpu market is very much contested, even when only looking at the PC's. danilop
... Very good for us sim nuts, but who else needs it? ... 1) Gamer who wants the best possible portable, high end rig based on mini ITX board (which doesn't allow for SLI/Crossfire) in small, silent case with limited cooling possibilities. 2) Gamer who wants the fastest single GPU available (note the want word, need is something which lot of folks who have the dough happily ignore :)). 3) PhD student or anyone else who need the best in scientific computation desktop power (yes, this is the card for that application) and cannot afford Tesla card which sells for 2.5x more. SkateZilla
Titan is basically A Pro/Workstation Card with some features Firmwared Off / Disabled. AMD Had plans to do it, but cancelled them because their next line is pretty much ready. Smart move by nVidia to go ahead with Titan, considering the 400 Series and 500 Series "Pro/Gaming" Card they tried never saw anything outside of Production Samples.. which failed miserably. On that Note, I'll be testing and screwing around with a write off Titan this weekend, we plan to soldier some IC/Voltage stuff to the mainboard and go nuts with it, with full cover water block cooling... I wont stop till it either burns out or we hit a hair over 1Ghz GPU and 1700Mhz Mem. I want 1.05/1.1/1.2Ghz though, going for the Single Card Record :) I need to check with other overclockers to see what clocks they are getting, but with Water Blocks and External VRM Box, I plan to up the voltage manually Edited March 15, 2013 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
