Question about gearbox oil pressure light

In chapter 9 of the manual it says:

 

"Upon reaching normal oil pressure in the engine gearbox, the green “Р масла

ПРИВОДОВ” (gearbox oil press norm) light will illuminate."

 

(located in the left overhead panel warning and advisory lamps)

 

Well, perhaps I do something wrong but this light will never illuminate in my startup procedures. Is this lamp not functioning in the actual sim?

Interesting, I never noticed this lamp (then again, I don't think I've ever fully read a startup checklist in one go :music_whistling:).

 

The only thing noticeable in the manual I found is in the section "Left Overhead Panel Warning and Advisory Lamps":

Could the "before start" explain your observation?

I have noticed this also. But then this lamp should be lit before start, but I had never seen it yet.

 

I was stumbling over this when I was checking the startup procedure in the manual.

 

It seems to be a minor bug.

We have a post where things like this are discussed. Once 1.2.3 comes around we can start trying to get them fixed. I'll look to see if my exported GRBX OIL lamp works in my cockpit.

The Russian manual says:

Нормальное давление масла в коробке приводов при закрытых стоп-кранах.

 

Normal oil pressure in the AGB when cut-off valves are closed.

 

Perhaps it illuminates during cranking when it's needed to check the oil system without starting the engines? Someone should try cranking. Maybe I'll do it today.

 

EDIT - The engine start instructions say it should illuminate during normal engine start so this might be a bug:

Upon reaching normal oil pressure in the engine gearbox, the green “Р масла ПРИВОДОВ” (gearbox oil press norm) light will illuminate.

While I appreciate the effort, it would probably be more effective with a clean-up and some structure to that?! Not to mention to move it to the DCS World bugs...
