Real Life Su-27 Questions

Hello All,

 

I am currently working on a training program for the Su-27, the first module is general familiarization.

I found a lot of information in books and the Internet but there are still a few questions that I am unsure of a 100%

 

1) What is the purpose of the "pod" between the engines besides providing extra lift and increased fuselage strength? Does it hold ECM equipment or maybe the Chaff / Flare dispensers?

 

2) I know FC3 simulates the Su-27's first production model, but is it true that under no circumstances it can mount and deploy the R-77 missile?

 

3) Does the EOS incorporates some sort of IFF capabilities?

1) The pod is the drag chute holder.

 

2) FC3 simulates the Su-27S and the aircraft can in no way mount the R-77.

Only the most recent updates like the SM and SM2/3 can carry such missile.

 

3) Not that I know off.

 

Looking forward to the training program as this is one of my favourite birds.

No internal ECM suit no. Chaff and Flare are also on the boom as Viper showed.

The ECM is mounted on the wing tips in pods.

I'm not sure about the context of this question... in reality, No. IN the game you can edit files to allow it.
