Oznerol256 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I know that the Wheelbrakes are activted with the W button by default. However i would like to know where the controls for the wheelbrakes in the real cockpit are. What does a real pilot do to use the wheelbrakes? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
_Heater_ Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 the real A-10 pilot push the rudder pedals (also can controll the nose steer wheeling when active [NWS]) Simulatori: DCS A-10C II Warthog - DCS F/A-18C Hornet - DCS F-16C - VRS F/A-18E - HOTAS: TM Warthog - Cougar \ HP Reverb G2 \ WinWing Panels Tally: I see the degenerate commie who wants to ruin our day.
Oznerol256 Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Doesnt this mean the rudder pedals are not fixed as usual aircraft pedals are? The whole pedal unit can be pushed back? I can imagine this results in the wheelbrake engaged all the time in flight because the pilot needs a fixed pair of pedals. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Konrad Friedrich Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 It's like the break pedal in a car (toe break). Only difference is that you have two break pedals.
Konrad Friedrich Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 To be more precise: You operate the rudder by pushing the pedals with the heels, You use breaks by tipping your toes forward.
Eddie Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Doesnt this mean the rudder pedals are not fixed as usual aircraft pedals are? The whole pedal unit can be pushed back? I can imagine this results in the wheelbrake engaged all the time in flight because the pilot needs a fixed pair of pedals. The rudder pedals on aircraft have two functions, obviously rudder which is controlled by pushing on the relevant pedal, left pedal for left rudder and right pedal for right rudder. The wheel brakes are controlled by pushing on the pedals with your toes, the left pedal controls the left wheel brake and the right pedal the right. Oznerol256 Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 This means you tilt the pedals to brake. Rudder is operated by actually moving the pedals back and forth. Right? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
