Steel Jaw Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I loved the Hawg, the hardcoreness, the weapons modelling, the avionics. But I cannot deal with the underpowered-ness of that jet any longer. FC3 aint giving me my needed hardcore fix. PLEASE let's rock and roll and the next hardcore DCS Fast Mover. Right, carry on. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, ASUS RTX3060ti/8GB.
sorcer3r Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I would say the A-10 is well-powered for CAS. Anyway ,maybe we will see the Mig-21 already in Q2 2013. [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Hmm, okay, clarification: F15c or (preferably) F/A18. No MiG21 please. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, ASUS RTX3060ti/8GB.

Lord_Pyro Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 He just want a sophiticated, modern supersonicjet and he's not alone with that wish ;) Mig21 will be nice to play with but to actually work together with the A10c we need a way more modern aircraft, capable of datalink, radar high situational awareness, we need F15, F16 or F/A18 :) [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70340_1.gif[/sIGPIC]

Frogisis Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You and me both. I still haven't *mastered* the A-10 or made much of a dent in the Shark, though, so I'm solid for a while. But I am fiending to shoot AMRAAMs from something that doesn't feel like it's on rails. I might suggest the Mustang. It's not a crazy-fast modern jet, but it feels much, much zippier than the Hog. And those .50s sound just as baller as the GAU in their own way. With a little suspension of disbelief you can use the more "basic" ground units to stand in for their WWII antecedents, too. New terrain would make it all feel fresh, though. I am actually getting nostalgic for places in Georgia I have never been to: A couple months ago I overheard a guy at a bar telling a buddy about Falcon BMS, and when I asked if he'd ever played DCS I got all gooey inside when he talked about flying out of Batumi. Steel Jaw Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 I have thought about the P51 but know I wont fly it in the long run so why spend the $$, only $10 that it is. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, ASUS RTX3060ti/8GB.
Lange_666 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You could give it a shot to kill the time between now and the release of the F-XX which still might take a year or 2 before you can lay your hands on it. Cookie Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I would say the A-10 is well-powered for CAS. I would say there is no such thing as "overpowered" when it comes to combat aircraft. :D - Two miles of road lead nowhere, two miles of runway lead everywhere - Click here for system specs

If you got any experience with WWII planes it shouldn't take much longer. Evil.Bonsai Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I wish others (not me) would feel like that when I'm flying my Hawg and there are about 5 fast movers on the other side. I HATE being shot down just after I turned for my first wp after takeoff, level wings to start climbing then BOOM.

Right, carry on. The F/A-18 Superbug by VRS is fun and there are a couple crack squads to fly it with in FSX, every bit as demanding as the A-10C. Though I do prefer the DCS platform as to simulated realism over FSX. Landing the Superbug on the FSX aircraft carrier, set in full realism, is not an easy task. http://fsxcarrierops.com/ When DCS gets the F-18 I will purchase the beta. I HATE being shot down just after I turned for my first wp after takeoff, level wings to start climbing then BOOM. The 104th's A2G only server has no fighter jets on it. Though their A2A "mixed" server is more fun trying to dodge the fighters by, hopefully, stealth tactics, at least in my copter. If you fly the ingress pre-planned route, the enemy probably also has flown your side in the Hawg, so they know the route, too. Do not be predictable! With FC3 mixed in, sorties really need a mixed bag---squad oriented, so you need to have guys flying air cover for you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Landing the Superbug on the FSX aircraft carrier, set in full realism, is not an easy task. Logged 99 traps now in vLSO since Dec, only 18% were OK passes... :D Unfortunately, hardcore or not, there still aint no REAL tactical combat simulated. Yet. We have to wait and see what the SDK and FSX@War can do. Of course they don't want to hear this over at the VRS forums. Banging on that drum has earned a threat of banning. I gotta say though, sometimes it is nice to hop back into the A-10C and just maul stuff on the ground.... I just make missions where it's a very short hop to get to the targets and I start airborne now! :) Stupid fighters... stupid gobs and gobs of full a/b!!! I feel the need! The need for speed!! Good news is I've been able to learn a thing or two about fighter operations from FC3 in the interim.
