All,

For users of Bitdefender 2013 who have DCS World installed and want to use the software for the first time, you'll notice that DCS World will crashes during startup if Bitdefender Parental Control is activated.

DCS World will crash during loading the menu after 13% to 56% has been loaded as displayed by the DCS World progress bar below the loading screen.

Bitdefender Parental Control will be automatically activated if you have on your "my bitdefender" account the parental control profiles configured and activated.

When you go to the task manager, and you find on the process list the Bitdefender Parental Control service running, then you'll get the above crash.

You can remedy the crash by removing the Parental Control Profiles from the "my bidefender" menu on the cloud. Also, you may want to check if the parental controls service on your pc is installed. If it is, you can de-install it using the "Programs and Features" section of the Windows Control Panel.

I have opened an error log on the bitdefender forums regarding this issue:

http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=43367&st=0&p=179723entry179723

Unfortunately, the bitdefender support team seems not to understand my error log, which I think describes very clearly the issue. I guess they are not focusing on this as they don't understand the urgency... I have done what they asked for, and I still am receiving the crash...

@bitdefender support team: if you are able to clear out this issue with the bitdefender support team on your behalf, that would be greatly appreciated. As there are many bitdefender users around, this bug will intervene with your commercial sales figures.

best regards,

Sven Van de Velde

Hello,

I had a similar problem. The following input has helped.

To resolve this issue, please try the following steps:

Go to Start, type "cmd", make a right click on the exe file and select "Run as administrator"

Once there, enter the following commands:

> \ Users \ "Enter the account name" cd \: C

C: \> cd "Program Files"

C: \ Program Files> cd Bitdefender

C: \ Program Files \ Bitdefender> cd "BitDefender 2013"

C: \ Program Files \ Bitdefender \ Bitdefender 2013> lspregistration.exe / uninstall

This is fantastic! The issue has indeed been resolved.

What does the command lspregistration.exe / uninstall do?

Any view on that?

thanks again!

I never saw that, but i strongly agree, i decided to completely uninstall my antivirus software as I've had nothing but problems with it, and i don't use my computer to browse the internet much.

But what i don't understand is why it was the parental control that was interfering with my DCS...
