installing in this board:

I have 12gb, runs in a 3.4ghz, with a 850w power supply with a sdd hard drive. (right now I have a gtx 460 card 1gb) also have a big case. My only concern is that where the cards are installed the length of the can end up on top of some connectors and I don't know if the card can be fit to the pci slot

Just want to be sure I buy something that in the long run I can still use it. I want better FPS. I'm only using 1 monitor but maybe in the future going for 2 or 3 monitors.

Let me know, any help appreciated.

GTX 680 wont be bottle-necked more than .2-4% when put in a PCIe 2.0 Board.

You'd be happy with the increased GPU Power and VRam

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

If you use only one screen then 4G VRAM is not required and you can save about $100.

I have a 2G 680 and it works with 5 screens at 30 FPS.

Cool! but as I say maybe in the future I'm going for more monitors. One question with FPS 30 are you all in high the settings?

I'm just that guy that prefer to spend now $100 bucks more that in the future spend more that $200 in a new card cause the old one is not good anymore. just a thought.

I'm more concern if the card is going to fix in the board ?

I'd go for EVGA. Better warranty and overall better performance. It's a bit more expensive but for a good reason. Also, I'm not a fan of AMD and Gigabyte but that's your choice, depends on what your CPU is.

Here are my settings:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1709154&postcount=28

I think that with all settings at max there is no hardware yet that will do 5 monitors at steady 30 FPS everywhere in the map.

The good thing is that there is no reason to have all settings at max.

Of course it is your decision. If you have the $$$ maybe you should wait for the new Nvidia 780 because it seems that it will be significantly faster.

Thanks Sorin for the tip. I just wondering with so good computer you have you have most of the settings at medium or at none and still have 30fps. I'm just trying to figure out if I go with the 2gb or 4gb. I have in mind that the memory interface is 256bit in both of them. I just want good eye candy and good FPS.

When you run your game with full AI all over the place how your FPS goes, those it stay the same at 30FPS or those it drop?

Anyways Thanks everyone for contributing to the cause!

Just a friendly suggestion to not pay full price for a GTX 680 with the 7 series weeks away.

My CPU is very old, that is why performance is not amazing.

But running 5 high resolution monitors (one 2560x1600 and 4 1920x1200) with any current hardware will not get you much more FPS.

I think that there is a big misunderstanding here about settings. My settings are providing very good visuals. Anything more it is not justified in my opinion because it does not add much quality but it kills the FPS. I have done a lot of testing.

To me 30 FPS constant is better than say 30-60 FPS variable.

But, he should definitely get the 4 GB one to be future proof (new consoles are out soon with increased RAM so the next game engines will make use of that). Though, as others have said, it's better to wait a while longer and get the 7xx series or 680 on sale.

780 will be a GK110 (208 TMU, 2496 SP, 5GB VRAM), (AKA Titan LE). 770=680, 760=670, 750=660.
