SA Tour 2013 - Operation: Phoenix's Nest

Really bad luck tonight.

Even if the tests were ok we didn't manage to fly without problems (warps etc.) .

The pings seemed better than the test run so it seems that the problem was caused by the mission file (maybe due to the latest patches).

Will come back shortly.

Hi all,

First of all, thanks all for showing up. We are still trying to understand what caused that much warping. According to Greg's report, even guys with 20 ping were warping badly...pity considering all worked like a charm a week ago during the test run.

Kindly confirm whether all have updated to latest patch before yesterday's mission, we suspect conflicting versions maybe.

Also I have heard early complaints about the latest patch not very MP-friendly (1.2.4.12913.167 Update).

We will try to reschedule a new sortie and announce a date asap.

Unless a more stable version comes out in the meantime, we may be forced to switch back to previous build, the one that has been used on the test run a week ago (DCS 1.2.4.12547 update).

More news to come. S!

Yes it was a nightmare. But 40+ players on the 51st server just seconds after we finished. So it must have been something with the mission ;)

Yes.

This warping was definitely not cause of connection problems.

Pings were quite good and the server seemed ok.

It seems that the mission will need to be designed from scratch and reduce some features.

Saving with the new versions does not seem to worked fine ;)

Will talk with Flanker and ask every participant for rescheduling.

PS .We may have to name the operation : Test run in order to fly better :D

It was the exact same mission file that was successfully used on the test run a week ago before the last update (with same participants and same host). If the cause was the mission, it would mean that it was compatible with previous build but not latest...now would that be technically possible?

Killing spree?

Nothing alike!

Only some ordinary tactical stratigy played out in the air (on my part)

The killing spree is a byproduct that i admit i enjoy troughly :) :bash::robot::spam_laser

We will rebuilt the mission and will reorganize it once SATAC ends :)

+1! Phoenix's Nest will come back for sure and ASAP!

We strongly think the main problem that caused the session to go haywire was the number of players: they were around 18 players on the test run which was a success. On D-day, we ended up with more than 20 players. Although the difference seems little, it could have had a significant impact on the stability of the mission, also keep in mind ED put 20 players as a red line to avoid running into too much trouble unless network code becomes more reliable. We will also make the mission lighter with less scripts and ground targets.

Because we will be very adamant about staying below 20 players next time, we kindly ask all of you to confirm your participation again so we can keep your slot booked

Thx very much already in advance 4 organizing & hosting once again, I'll now enjoy if even more 4 sure with having bought FC 3 (Flaming Cliffs 3) two months ago and being able to finally engage other aircraft with IRST EOS in my Fulcrum C (MiG-29S) now instead of that Frogfoot (Su-25T) bomber... :P xD ;)

C ya all then in near future once again (hopefully)... cheers!
