X-Control Mod (Take Over control of AI planes) - Comunity open mod

Recommended Posts

Hi Drillin,

I use CustomHuman.lua in DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common folder

or

wsTypes.lua in DCS World\Scripts\Database folder

Extra info:

Those numbers are also used to reference aerodynamics and engine data in

SFM_Data.lua and for nozzle positions crew members location, et al in PlaneConst.lua

Ive got the latest version of this mod installed, but I get this view in some AI planes f.e. in the F16 with F15 pit:

seems a lua file has somehow incorrect values...

can any body help me out so if got normal HUD view in the AI planes? THX!

You will need to create a custom view.lua to setup the F-16 to use the new F-15 pit.

thx, so you mean I will need to change the values in the F16 lua file.

can you tell me correct values to get the HUD into right position? Im a noob in this sort of things...

cheers Jabo

Hi Jabo,

I do have the values required but to use them requires a different method of implementing the F-16 into the game. X-Control uses a nested approach with many planes sharing the same entry.lua but in order to setup custom views the F-16 needs to be installed as a standalone mod.

I could upload my standalone version but it would require a modification of the X-Control mod to work.

Would a non-ED partner be able to create his own hud and the corresponding lua files so it could use both a-a and a-g modes?

Yep.

Is there any certain LUA files for the default HUD's that I can use for reference?

BTW, that must explain the F/A-18 hud made by VBA

Nope, you're more or less starting from scratch building a new HUD.

No complete HUDs, but you should take a look at HUD/Indicator folder in the scripts for Wunderluft. If you spend enough time staring at all the LUA files that make up the indicators for all the DCS planes, you might begin to understand it. I haven't ever been able to fully understand the process, so I can't really help. Thankfully, the L-39 doesn't require any HUD or indicators. :)

It does.

I'm having a strange bug with Su-30 mod in latest patches.

When making it's avionics be that of the Su-25T and trying to do SEAD with it I get the following bug.

While using the ELINT pod, the SAM radar icon on HUD is flashing like crazy and it is impossilbe to get a lock on the radar site.

Does anybody get the same problem?

Yes, I noticed that happening. I did manage to get a 3 locks out of tons of attempts, but most times the missile would just blow after launch. Even tried it on Su-24M which by default brings ELINT pod but same thing happens... ELINT pod only fully functional on Su-25T it seems for now...

Hello good folks,

I have recently installed the x-control mod (beta 4) and the initial tests seem to work, except for one point:

I am unable to adjust the cockpit view position in the "views.lua" file that is inside the mod folder. Is there another way to eddit the cockpit view position ?

(my intention is to lower the L-39 cockpit view so that it fits better with the hud).

Thanks, have a great time !

It's because the F-15 has an AFM now, so using the 15 hud or cockpit will require giving that aircraft the F-15 AFM as well.

Well, i tried a lot of settings to get it to work, but i ran always into two problems.

First, if i'm able to get the F-15 Hud into my cockpit, i can't land or start from the ground, because the F-18C explodes each time i try to.

thanks for your answer but that's not the problem. (so far i know)

If i use my own Shape for the plane and my own collision modell all works fine if i let the plane fly as AI.

The problem did arise if i wan't to use the F-15 avionics with my own Cockpit.

I'm able to get the F-15 Avionics but that maens for me to replace the F-15 as well and that is not the solution i was looking for.

I think the problem is the advanced model and a lot of changings in how they (ED) implement new planes.

it's a guess of course :music_whistling:
