Can anyone tell me the difference on the russian submunitions?

Recommended Posts

I know that PTAB is for anti-armor duty, But haven't been able to find a coherent list on the internet which states what difference there is between the PTAB-10-5 and -1M.

Does somebody know (and is there a guide for their deployment somewhere?)

PS, anyone else have stuttering when viewing the explosions from clusterbombs?

PTAB-1M: 2lbs, 1 ½”x8”, HEAT anti-tank (will penetrate 9” of mild steel). Fin-stabilized during fall. If the PTAB-1 does not strike armour, it explodes on it’s own after 20-40 seconds on the ground.

PTAB-2.5M: 5 ½ lbs, HEAT anti-tank (RDX synthetic chemical explosive). Fin-stabilized during fall. An effective anti-tank weapon.

So, to me it looks like the PTAB-10-5 is larger than the PTAB-1M, but therefor also contains less pieces of of submunitions, basing it on the first link UCAS gave (it mentions 268 pieces of the 1M) and the pictures 159th_Viper showed. (Showing much fewer, but in same cassette).

They are both sub-munitions. There are 268 M1's and 30 10-5's in their respective cannisters.
