There are actually two.

 

There is the Razbam one that @Desert Foxfox posted above. Razbam are doing the coding for this project.

 

Then, there is the MilTech5 Discord...  https://discord.gg/42kpxQRj9z

 

MilTech5 is where the Bo 105 3D model/graphics expert is (who is also the overall project lead too). So following both of these will keep you up-to-date.

 

That said, I tend to re-post anything significant from either of them here in this thread. Not everyone uses Discord.

Some more screenshots were posted up last night/this morning over on the MilTech5 Discord.

 

 

It was reported that this door lock has now been animated.... (a tiny detail, but appreciated, and no doubt time-consuming to implement!.

This anti-tank sportscar looks like it'll be fun! zip betrween the trees at high speed, do a banking turn 10ft AGL, hide behind some shrubs and plink some T-72's!  Then race away like a scalded cat!

Has there been any decisions about types other than the ATGM versions? I'm guessing there will be unarmed versions for medical and evacuations and recon... but what about other armament types? 

Meaning, will pod rockets, cannons and MG's be options? Maybe Miniguns, Mg-3's or Browning .50's ? Or maybe a 20mm? I'm not really familiar with the '105 in armed use other than the ATGM TOW and HOT variants...

Precision guided missiles would be a good start, working the airframe to achieve a simple goal of destroying armour, AAA or missile ground defence systems is a good and specific reason for the airframes existence..... everything else is candy (or the cherry on top as us British would say).

The Hot Missile is all we need for now.

Lets get the bird airworthy first.

HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. OpenXR user, Open XR tool kit disabled. Open XR was a massive upgrade for me.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), 0 X MSAA, 0 X SSAA. My real IPD is 64.5mm. Prescription VROptition lenses installed. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC at the mo. MT user  (2 - 5 fps gain). DCS run at 60Hz.

Vaicom user. Thrustmaster warthog user. MFG pedals with damper upgrade.... and what an upgrade! Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height with brail enhancements to ensure 100% button activation in VR.. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound.... you know when you are dropping into VRS with this bad boy.

PAH1A1 is armed with HOT missiles only. And at firs that is the variant we will get. If, later, we get KLH too (Korean, and post Cold War version) as originally hoped for, it will have gunpods and rockets available, as well as a fairly advanced night capable optical system that can lase for others as far as I know. However, KLH doesn't get any guided weapons as far as I know.

I'm afraid that doesn't work that well with the DCS AI and its superhuman spotting abilities.

First of all it looks great. But to be honest for what it is worth? Especially the details on the rotor head may cause a FPS drop while nobody can see it when inside the cockpit or from outside when the head is spinning. I want to fly the bird, not watching it as a show case model. It's the same with the Apache. Great details but nobody can see it when using it like intended: Sim flying from inside the cockpit. For me it seems to be the wrong direction of DCS, helicopter models are going over the top but the low level scenery doesn't improve much. Towns and buildings remain sparse and empty and the poly count stays low. 🤔
