As Stated, I'm losing hair and hair color over getting the cockpit tub to look decent... lol

Oh and Time to work on stuff right now is at a minimum, My Beer League Hockey team I play for is in the playoffs... so... by time I get home, I pass out.

That sounds suspiciously close to an excuse!

More coffee.

There is the root of the problem. All of that hot caffeine is not doing the body good. Switch to cold, and green, caffeine (Mt. Dew) and you will feel much better. :D

Sorry for the lack of updates guys,

Time was limited to pretty much Zero the last few months Due to Hockey and Work.

However, after this Sunday's game I'll have 2 weeks off before playoffs, to work on cockpit 3D assets.

Just noticed your effort---nice!

If you are doing this for no-pay, why apologize? There must be thousands of man-hours creating this thing.

Thanks for the effort.

(I am old enough to remember the F-100 flying out in the sticks of New York's Catskill Mountain foothills out from our local Air Force base. I'd like to see a F-86 and the Mig of that era in sim in DCS.)

Because the delay with me getting a base cockpit done, is also delaying the systems coding for the most part, which is delaying the entire module.

and I'm pretty sure the MIG-21BIS pilots are gonna want something pretty to shoot down soon.

Like I said, after Sunday, I'll have 2 weeks off from Hockey (aside from practices), And I'll start working on building the Tub again.

I'll prolly also do another cleaner Tac-Demo with the updated External EDM and mute the Cockpit sounds.

I've also joined a group of online of F-100 Vets, and things that I believed were model inaccuracies when comparing to schematics/3-views, are actually correctly modeled, the 3-views were incorrect. Thanks to some fabulous images posted in their group.

However, the Main Landing Gear Doors/bays are very incorrect, but would require the wings to be completely re-built to make them correct and look clean.

(a Wing Re-Build isnt out of the question either, as the Slats themselves have issues too.)

including the [texture] artists.....

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to give a quick update,

I started testing some methods to aid in building the cockpit, but nothing to really show as I was simply testing the functions in Max.

As for the External Model:

-I'm adjusting some Lighting, and Some Lighting Settings.

--Strobes, (only controlled by AI Right now) Are gone, and replaced with Rotating Red Beacons.

--Re-Positioned the Upper and Lower Red Beacons

--Deleted the NAV Light from the Top of the Vertical Tail (There isnt one there IRL).

--Afterburner is adjusted a lil, but not final.

--Started building the 3D meshes for the Landing Lights

Also, Right now, it's looking like I'll have little time to do massive 3d Construction/Changes,

So if the Team wants to, they can start looking for someone to take over the Cockpit Building,

As I Don't want to continue to delay work on systems and Stuff. ( I have some of the panels mostly done, and none of the TUB or Gauges. )

I can continue to re-vamp and work on the exterior, and hopefully have an AI w/ Damage Model Done this year (hopefully for the MIG-21), but Building A cockpit from scratch, Might take a Long time with available free time.
