kazereal
Some of the most iconic aircraft should have priority perhaps.. Such as: Junkers Ju-87 "Stuka" Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" Iljusin IL-2 "Sturmovik" etc. I wouldn't mind if we get other as well :D Like Brewster F2A and so on.. ;) Of course we need more bombers like HE-111, Junkers 88, B-17, Bristol Blenheim Mk.IV and so on to fill the virtual skies evenly. And we are missing amphibious planes like Fokker T.VIII-W still as well. This list would never end.. :P "I would have written a shorter post, but I did not have the time." The_Pharoah
With the amount of time taken to build just one a/c in DCS...it may be 20 years till we have that list. Who knows...ED may still be working on EDGE and the nevada map :) (can't help but have a dig! lol...good on you ED, just keep plugging away). however, having a range of a/c (even if its ETO a/c initially) plus a western europe map would be awesome. For the ETO theatre, there's so many a/c to be modelled to complete the all round experience PLUS you have to select the period as a/c changed so quickly. If say you had to model mid 1943 (height of the air war I guess, before the invasion), you could probably model: Fighters - Spitfire (Mk IX) - ME109 (G or K?) - P47 - P38 - P51B (I think this was in action then) - Hawker Typhoon - ME110 - JU87 (probably based more on the eastern front by this time but whatever) Medium bombers - B25 - Mosquito - Beaufighter - H111 - JU88 Heavy bombers - B17 - B24 - Lancaster Thats already 14 a/c for a specific period and covering the ETO (western europe) NOT including the eastern front, not including the PTO, not including the North African campaign, not including a/c from 1940-1942, etc etc. However, this would provide for the following scenarios: - 'Rhubarb' missions (low level fighter armed recons into France by Spits) - 8th AF bombing missions (B17/B24/P47/P38/Spit/FW/ME) - Tac bombing missions into France (B25/Mosq) - Anti shipping strikes into Northern Europe (if it was modelled eg. Norway) (Mosq/Beau) - Standard fighter missions (P47/Spits/ME/FW) I guess, this is why IL2 1946 was so good in this area. But hopefully ED can see that there is a big demand for this. tferrell
Who could want anything more than the Russian TB-3? Heavy Bomber? CHECK Paratroop Drops? CHECK Light Tank Deployment? CHECK ZVENO Project? CHECK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_TB-3 I also second the nomination for the JU-87- a necessary component for the recreation of the Pearl Harbor attack as described in Animal House.... All kidding aside I would give my votes for the P-47 and P-38. No one mentioned the ME-163 Komet? Landing one of those (successfully) would make the Huey seem like childs play. I'd also like to see a fully modeled B-29 but it seems its' usefulness would be limited.
Alicatt
Medium bombers - B25 - Mosquito - Beaufighter - H111 - JU88 Heavy bombers - B17 - B24 - Lancaster But isn't the B17 a medium bomber? It has a bomb capacity of only 4,000lb if the target is greater than 400 miles and 8,000lb if under 400 miles. 4,000lb is the same capacity as the Mosquito :) Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron

The B-17 had a Max takeoff weight of 65,500 lb (29,700 kg) Short range missions (<400 mi): 8,000 lb (3,600 kg) Long range missions (≈800 mi): 4,500 lb (2,000 kg) Overload: 17,600 lb (7,800 kg) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?CREATED_BY=Mike%20Busutil&set_filter=Y

JOKERACTS
honestly, I don't encourage DCS World to work on the WORLD WAR 2 ERA gameplay simulation, my opinion for DCS World is to turn FULL MAN POWER to totally focus on developing more modern flyable vehicles and the modern Naval vehicles set for 1980s-1990-2000s-2010s DCS World, just make those F-16A, F-16C, F/A-18C, Su-25TM, Su-27SM3, flyable in the top priority, and make available for two seats multi cockpits for those F/A-18D, F-15E, SU-30, AH-64D, AH-64A, HIND, HAVOC, MIG-25, MIG-31, P-3C, add detail SAM simulation as the FreeSAMSimulator? there were many WW2 game tittle in the market, the most successful WW2 games to date was the "War Thunder" which utilising the DirectX 11, adaptive Vsynch and possibly the Nvidia OptiX advanced rendering? Cg code? The War Thunder also have Simulation mode of gameplay, they were SOLID STRENGHT for now!, the Kick-starter was succeed for the WW2 project but did it worth? or just delay the other main module for the DCS World simulation that it should be? why not make the Kick-starter for the WW2 project turn over to boost all the flyable modern combat aircraft module? Der_Fred
In DCS WW2, I'd like to see a LA7, Yak3.. and other a/c dated at the same time as the P51D and Dora. I see no reason to stay in the west, and it'll add an extended dimension to eastern europe for the WW2 era. In IL2, in a FW I always found the Yak's and LAs more of a challenge compared to the P51Ds... this will definitely be a great addition. As for modelling data, any WW2 data is a 'challenge'. :-)
