Just updated to latest update to install DSC a10 and got the below error.

"The procedure entry point InitializeCriticalSectionEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

Uninstalled and re-installed DCS World and updated to latest patch with same results.

Because of a 3rd party library current release of 1.2.5 does not work on WinXP.

We are working to push the fix ASAP.

Meanwhile, you can roll back to the previous version.

The attached file should be placed to the DCS Install directory, unpacked and run.

Thanks for the quick reply. If i roll back it wont let me intall DCS A10C.

You can install it and then roll back.

Also, modules can be installed from the in-game Module manager (only modules bought from our e-shop, though).

So does that mean if for example i originally bought A10 off steam but then went down the route of DSC world and downloaded the A10 module with the intent of using the steam CD key it wouldnt work? or would that work?

Thanks for your help on this matter, i had just stumbled onto this problem myself installing it tonight.

You'll have to manually install it... i.e. download the module from ED's site and not through the Module Manager.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

You shouldn't need to de/reactivate.

you only really need to deactivate when changing Hardware i.e. CPU/Mobo or installing windows.

Hi, I just bought DCS A10 and UH1 just about 2 weeks ago. Ive been enjoying the hell out of these products however I have WinXP 64 bit. With this new update I can no longer launch the program, I get the exact same error message as the creator of this thread.

This has me quite concerned..I just want to make sure that XP/XP64 will continue to be supported and this will be fixed right away? Any kind of time frame for when it will be fixed?

I saw the .bat to roll back the version, but my only interest is multiplayer with people using Win7 so I would prefer to just wait for the fix for this nasty little problem.

If you could email me at Tuffo3@gmail.com with any info or to let me know it is fixed, that would be awesome.

Thanks,

We're testing the hotfix now.

However, we may stop supporting WinXP in the foreseeable future. In such a case, DCS on WinXP will just stop receiving updates and will continue to work at the last XP-compatible version.
