A-10C Auto updater or not.

Recommended Posts

I just installed the A-10C Warthog but have not seen any updater Like I did when I installed the P-51 Mustang. With the mustang every time it starts the auto updater checks for a new update, but with the A-10C I don't think it does. I did see a new patch 1.1.1.1 but was that patch already installed after set up was complet dont know. :helpsmilie:

Yea I belive it is the stand alone version because it has its own desktop Icon quick launch, and with the P-51 mustang its in DCS World Quick launch. Now I installed the A-10 yesterday and today when I launched the DCS world to fly the P-51 there was an update I mean a big one, I belive it was 1.2.5 for DCS world. So what your saying is I need to update to the patch 1.1.1.1 or just leave it alone it does work fine and looks good. The A-10C is a Box version ,,,

There are 2 versions of A-10C. The stand alone or the module which installs as part of DCS World.

The stand alone is no longer patched. All future updates will only be for the module version.

You can stick with the stand alone if you're happy with it and don't get into multi-player, or you can download the module version and install it into DCS World. If you do the module install the auto updater will update A-10C going forward.

Mine must be the stand alone box version, But again it does look great so I think I'II just run with it. I also got the Black Shark and did see you could buy the Black shark 2 and it says that you must have Black Shark for it to work. Also the A-10C version I have does have multi-player, there may be a A-10C 2 later on that I could buy will see.

I still hope ED finds a very simple way to inform people about the stand alone 1.1.1.1, either that or just find a way to better integrate these modules. I always see posts about people being confused about patching/updating, etc.

Also if other 3rd party modules aren't integrated with DCS: World (as far as updating goes) Things could get very complicated/confusing for most people.

The A10C in DCS world is much better than the stand alone and is constantly improving. It costs you nothing to change. Sticking with the stand-alone means you don't know what you're missing.

Yea I'am with you on that because this is a DCS box version of A-10C Warthog. -PV- you said it would cost me nothing to change and how do I do this, and to me when it says DCS box version they should all be the same. In the past I found by getting the box version it was a better instal and you would always have it, plus if there was an update it would.

1.) Download and install DCS world. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/

2.) Download and install the a-10c module for DCS world. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/

3.) Use the key you have for the standalone version to activate the a-10 module.

*NOTE* if you leave the standalone version installed while installing the rest you wont even to reactivate the module in DCS world. They are installed side by side and you can delete one without worrying about the other. They don't share the same files.

Either - it does not matter. (they both work for me and I live in Europe)

......or you can use the module manager within DCS World to download the module for you.

I bought the box version of A-10C and the download of Black Shark 2.

I ran them as two separate installs, but since DCS World came out, I uninstalled them both and they are now combined within DCS World (using the original keys).

I uninstalled every thing and started over with the P-51 witch adds DCS world and then let it update to the 1.2.5 ver. then down loaded the A-10C module version. Now every thing will go into DCS world and yes it looks great runs smooth, plus I got the Huey man thats fun to fly. Thanks guys:pilotfly:
