BrackishWater
New System I just put a intel dual core 2.x (cant recall exact speed) ghz system together with dual SLI cards (GeForce 7900) and 4GB RAM and HOLY CRAP! Lock on runs like a dream now, I can set all the settings to HIGH and it runs super smooth. I'm running at 1920 x 1080 resolution on my HDTV (1080p) using the PC input. Wow! imdying
6320 @ 3.32ghz here, 880GTS. What can I say... LOMAC runs like a dream, maxed out. Everything appears to cache nicely, so missions load in about 1-2 seconds... first load is about 5 seconds. If every game loaded like this, I'd be a happy man. aceflier
I was going to get the top dual core Core2 but after watching the Quad core prices range similar prices I decided to skip dual core altogether and start saving for a Quad. There is already at least one game Im about to buy that uses quad processing. Flight sim X runs like a rapped ape on quad:) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
igsoft2000
WOW, I just joined Dual Core club by upgrading myself to Core2 Duo. This CPU has got to be the best CPU ever in my 20years of PC gaming. After spending so much money to get Lockon to run smooth for the past 2 years, I now realise that all I had to do was wait for Intel release this CPU. E6420 runs Lockon FC like dream even without overclocking but overclocked to 3.2Ghz it runs like haven!
Prophet
The thing that blew me away the most, was price. I bought me X2 4400+ for close to $450. My C2D E6400 for $200. And the prices will be going even lower at the end of the month. Then to top it off, look at the prices of RAM, they are half of when I bought my C2D. Its crazy. Pilotasso
I already got quad. I could hardly be any hapier. The thing is awsome playing LOMAC, even more when playing @ 3 GHz wich it will hit quite easely (I think I can do more). On a P35 motherboard its as easy as raisint the FSB to the Official 1333Mhz and have the CPU voltage to the same rating as the Qx6700, and you get infact the equivalent to a Q6850, if it was ever to get released, for no extra charge. I have never had a pause due to multi tasking yet. christopher m
DualCore Yes, I've finally moved on from old Asus P4C800 E and that P4 whatever the hell it was. Got the Asus SE and E6600 DualCore, put em in a big o'le Thermaltake tower. I've been playing with the Bios for couple of days now. It's way too much fun. This SE mb can overclock the FSB and the Memory asyncronisly, meaning I can set the FSB overclock and the memory overclock to whatever speeds I want... very cool. Needless to say I am being very cautious right now but still it great fun. Haven't run into any problems with memory or Audio cus I am not running SLI for this board. I haven't loaded FC either and I am not gonna. I am waiting on BS, but I may load MSFX and try her a few turns. Happy camper for now. :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christopher M

Fahhh
I just bought an Ultra-Low-Power AMD X2 3800+ @ 2ghz, 1.1volts/35Watts, and i'm quite happy with it, Lock On runs much smoother, but this could be due to the fact that I upgraded from an old Sempron 2300+, and an old Geforce Fx5200 to an all new system with new VC/RAM...etc.. Pilotasso
It can go to 3 GHZ easely if you feel the need to go on par with the latest E6*50 Series on single core apps. olli
I couldn't see the low prices for quad-core (in germany) anymore, so i had to upgrade to Q6600 :helpsmilie:. so long ... Wow i really wonder how you guys can exhaust those QCs. In most cases the second core of my E6420 ist not used at all (ok maybe 1-2%), most games I play do not even support DC. It can go to 3 GHZ easely if you feel the need to go on par with the latest E6*50 Series on single core apps. My E6420 is actually running at 3GHZ, and i think an e6850 has some OC potential either. I don't like comparing OCed CPUs with non-OCed ones.

RvETito
Question here- with my new processor (4200+ X2 939) I have strange behaviour in FC- FPS is jumping constantly from 25 to 75 or more regardless the settings and causes pretty annoying stutering. I never had this with my previous 3500+ 939. What could be the reason? Reinstall FC? "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is.
