ATC for helicopters doesn't make sense

Maybe this will be addressed by the upcoming ATC improvements.

When I'm in the Huey and request take-off clearance, the ATC tells me to climb 300. I assume that means 300 kph which doesn't make sense for a helicopter. I don't own the Ka-50 but I assume the ATC is working the same way with that chopper.

Also, when I request landing, I'm told to check landing gear. Obviously doesn't apply to the Huey.

Just don't call ATC and everything will be just fine.
