f-22 by Iris preview

If used correctly the F22 will own everything, we did some flights in F4AF and there were times when the Russian jets would win because the F22s weren't flown using their stealth the right way. So F22 vs SU35s the SU35s were winning but when we adjusted the tactics to suit how they are used IRL the SU35s were no longer a problem.

BTW awesome video Iris I'll buy this addon and great news about the T38C great choice in trainer.:pilotfly:

I dont wanna troll, but FSX is a dead no growth platform.

MS Ended Support for FSX, FSX Acceleration, and Stopped hosting their own files (SP1 SP2 etc).

They ended support for Activating as well.

Prepar3d is the only real option if you want any type of support. Most of the Addons work fine in Prepar3d.

So the future of military sims is using an application that is now cancelled and no longer has support from it's parent company? (FSX and Microsoft)

That is certainly not MY future of military sims... !

VRS are doing an SDK for Tacpac which will make it possible for people to add weapons to already existing addons and make them MP combat capable. It will take a while for FSX/Tacpac to reach what we have in DCS World because DCS has been evolving for many years since lockon. The big advantages though is Global combat will be possible and also it will expand to ships/helicopters/tanks etc. VRS are also doing a Prepare 3d version which will be awesome. And I'll have both DCS and Prepare3d on my Pc when that happens.

Yes, I know about it. Still I would never pay $199 for a slightly improved FSX.

Obviously you don't know about it. $199 is only for the pro pack

Hehe ok dude, tell that to Milviz, VRS, ORBX and IRIS among others

hello

it will be advanced system like a10c?

or like the plane of fc3

Unknown, thought I think IRIS might have put forth a poll asking what kind of module was desired. The answer was DCS overwhelmingly so F-22 might go in that direction.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

FSX it self is no longer supported.

MS Recently Terminated the Ability to safely and legally activate any new copies of FSX

MS Terminated any Support for Microsoft ESP.

MS Basically gave up on everything Flight Simulator.

Lockheed Martin Purchased the Intellectual Property and the Source code from MS as well as hired several of the former ACES Studios Members.

Prepar3d is the only thing left for FSX Owners to look forward too.

VRS Can only do so much with a base code that doesnt support combat.

so we get a F22 and no one is bashing this project? :smilewink:

im looking for war to it :) Will the high alt high speed effect work? cant remember the name of it, but I can be at high altitude with a full burn and actually conserve fuel.

And we now have IRIS making their way into DCS, daring to be great. I'm sure they see this as the best option for growth now.

For the record I wish success to IRIS and hope to see a released T-38 in a reasonable time. :)

That about covers it Skates. It's hard to debate those points, but I would like to know what Lockheed Martin will do with that acquisition.

Lockheed Martin has had the IP and Source code since 2009.

Since then they've:

-Modified ESP to be Multi-Core

-Increased Max Textures to 4096^2

-Shader Model 3.0

-AMD Eyefinity GOLD (6+ Screens Certified)

-Dynamic Weathering and Lighting

-Improved ATC

-Improved Airfields

-Better Windows 7 Compatibility

-Better Developer ToolKits.

With Shader Model 4.0/5.0 Being worked on.

The F-22 is the aircraft I have hoped for most in DCS. I know that everything is highly classified but if they can at least make it believable, I will take that. More than anything, I want properly modeled thrust vectoring; I would have so much fun with that. Their version for FSX did not model it (understandable). I have high hopes for this.

It would be nice to have a F-22 we just don't have a place to fly it around. A bunch of aircraft are in development. They are pretty much all good and I will get a lot of them only issue I have is that there is no place to fly them.

After ED implement the new EDGE engine I'm sure we will see as much of terrain in development as we hear about planes now.

I was initially sceptical due to how classified this thing is and if they would be able to properly model it, but then my natural human hunger for power took over and made me realise MY GOSH I will feel like God flying that thing around at 40,000 feet, imagine how nervous other planes will be online knowing a stealth F-22 is out there somewhere locking them up!

Try it out and you will see that it is still using 1 core at 100% and the others very little.

The FSX engine cannot be made multi-core capable so unless they re-write everything it will stay single core. Same thing for the DCS engine, cannot be made truly multi-core.

So far DCS performs much better for me. RIP FSX...

Long time lurker, first time poster. I read the quoted below and had to interject.

FSX it self is no longer supported.

MS Recently Terminated the Ability to safely and legally activate any new copies of FSX

Where did you get this information from?

Just three days ago I reformatted and reinstalled FSX and it activated with no problems at all.

In fact, MS still sell it through their website:

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Flight-Simulator-X/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8044d530935

Why would they be selling it if they had stopped activations?

Perhaps you might want to check your sources before making claims like this.

As for the topic of the Iris F-22 for DCS, of course it won't be in the same league as the A-10C or Ka-50 simulations already available. Then again given Iris' track record of FSX addons I would be very wary of buying anything from them.
