Picksplitter Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Hey there... to choose a skin... open mission editor, open the mission you want to fly, ensure you have the 'country' you want to fly chosen, click on the plane, find the payload button in the menu on the right of the screen ( about half way down you'll see a row of buttons, it's the second one in ), look to the very bottom of this menu and find 'paint scheme', and choose your skin. Now do this for all missions.... As far as I know, this can't be done for training missions, but I really could be wrong on this... If there's an easier way, I surely don't know it...:music_whistling: Acer AMD Phenom II x 4 840T, 16 gb. memory, Zotac GTX580 Amp2 3GB, 40" Philips tv, Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog, Saitek Combat Rudders , Cougar MFCD's w/ 21.5" LG monitor, DSD Track Master button box, 3rd. century Roman field comanders helmet w/ Track IR 5, Windows 7 Home P. “God is a comedian, playing to an audience that's afraid to laugh.”... Maxzouz Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 That's the right way to do it. Would be cool if we can choose just before jumping into a plane. Multiplayer servers usually don't run all paint schemes by default
joey45 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Back in the day it did. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Nate--IRL-- Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I agree it is not very intuitive, I've made a suggestion or two about it. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Bandit. Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 an option to change the skin could perhaps be added to the ingame rearming menu
SkateZilla Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 How do I choose the skin I want to fly with in the game? at the first mission screen before it loads, instead of "FLY" click Mission Planner and change skin and loadout. Dutchy93 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I am not sure but if someone made a custom skin, nobody could see it in multiplayer unless the server had the skin and assigned it to a plane. (you can't even fly it in multiplayer as far as I know) When I was playing IL-2 in multiplayer someone could have made a skin for his own, and flown around in it while else nobody had it. but after a while in the server, the skin downloaded to all the clients in the server and everyone could see the beautiful skin he had on his plane. the skin would have downloaded to a cache folder inside the game. you could look back for it, copy it and place it with your own skins. In IL-2 it was simple: Pick a plane (out of the extensive list unless in coop), chose nation and skin, FLY. If you ask me DCS and LOMAC do things way to complicated.
