Steam purchases can be activated outside of Steam. (AFAIK, They Have in the past.)

 

Im not sure, but to Buy the DLC, You may have to have DCSW on Steam installed or at least, start the download then pause it, then try to purchase the DLC, but stop the download on steam.

 

Buy the DLC, Right Click DCSWorld in Steam, Click "View CD Keys", copy to clipboard, paste in notepad.

 

2 Ways to Install the Module:

First:

Download the Appropriate Module from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/

 

Second:

Start

Type CMD

Open Command Prompt.

Type: CD\

ENTER Key

Type: CD Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bin\ (Or Path to your DCSW Bin)

ENTER Key

Type: DCS_updater.exe install <ModuleName>

ENTER KEY

 

<ModuleName> = A-10C, P-51D, SU-25, A-10A, UH-1H, KA-50, CA

 

 

After Install is finished.

 

Boot,

 

Start a Mission with the New Module,

 

Paste Activation License when Prompted.

 

Press OK, Viola.

 

 

My DCS World Install is a Mix-Sourced Family of Keys..

2 From ED

2 From Steam

2 From GameFly

The Huey is 10 freaking dollars!

 

Yeah, too excited, purchased via steam website, gotta wait till I get home to do anything with it, as I cant find the serial license via their site or email.

It shows uh-1h Huey in the DCS World properties...but it doesn't show you the key.I tried right clicking the line...the icon, and all the tabs...nada and the reason I think that is ...is because it simply hasn't installed yet

As far as I know you don't even need to begin download on the game. Once your purchase is done, the game is added to your steam library, from which you can view the CD keys.

 

It will show me my Purhcased DLC on my Office PC, but not the Licenses.

Is it possible to free up enough space? to simply start the download and stop it?

 

well that's still 9-10 gigs worth of data to remove then replace(not a good situation for something as simple as asking if I had DCS world already...no brainer there

 

I was maybe thinking to pull my ED DCS World off to a laptop,But couldn't I redirect the steam to that directory instead then do a repair??? except that wags says its a different dcs world??? so wouldn't that be a problem?

Bah!!!... it won't let you redirect. Only listed paths allowed.

 

Backup your DCSW Folder to another Drive to get space so it will let you get to the 1st stage of install, then cancel, See procedure above. I Literally didnt download 1MB worth of Data according to network monitoring, I simply let it start creating folders, and stopped it as soon as I got View CD Box.

 

How much space do you need?

I only had 3 gig left on the d drive ...don't know how much I would have needed for the huey as a module. I'm gonna try the move to the laptop but there should be some sort of fix to this situation for the future(I can see this happening to others wanting to take advantage of sales)

Click on DCS World in your steam library. Look at the right hand side of the screen and click on the CD Key option.

 

I don't have Steam's version of DCS World installed, but I can do this and see the key for the SU-25 I just purchased.

A fantastic price for the content available, those who don't have them should take advantage now. I've gifted friends a few pieces of content to get them into DCS World

 

Wags> Are the databases for serial keys synced up between Steam and ED's store? I bought A-10A and SU25 on the Ed store a while ago, the SU25 key worked on Steam fine but the A-10A one says its invalid. Had the same issue with Huey until it activated on Steam today.

Thanks for Pointing that out, I Noticed it a few minutes after I went through the hooplah on my work PC.,

When you click on DCS World, to get the DCSW Mainscreen,

 

theres a menu to the Right, Click on "CD KEY"

Bingo:thumbup:....the cd key option was there ,not very noticeable,but there. It wasn't in the right click on the icon itself. I should be able to do it via ED module now I hope.

I wonder If the old problem with differnet modules being bound to different accounts has been solved... Though I have been able to activate all three products seamlessly.

We try to provide Steam a new key code dump each month. So for new purchases, there may be a few days before keys are merged.

It worked for me... The module key was accepted right after Steam purchase...

I think he means Available keys to be activated on Steam, Ie Purchases from ED's Site are sent to Steam to allow them to be activated on Steam.
