SU-27 performance

First of all thank you all for the warm welcome, this is my first post so please be gentle. (that didn't come out right, did it?) Anyway I am in my early 50's and just want to learn from you young studs out there, so please be patient. I recently installed DCS World, FC3, and A10c which to my surprise run fairly well considering my outdated system. I get aprox. 30 fps. on the ground with all aircrafts, and in the air 45+ give or take depending how hectic things get up there. However there is one thing that really has me puzzled, with the SU27 the fps count drops and even more when I turn on cockpit lights, is this normal? :dunno:

Yes it is an issue. the interior lighting hits sim. pretty hard. what are your system specs? Do you leave your machine running 24/7? And what are your graphics setting in game?

My system spec.

AMD phenom II X4 955 3.2GHZ

16gb RAM

AMD Radeon 6670 1gb (Windows 7)

I run the sim on the lowest settings and I get fairly decent fps, however the SU27 really sucks (unplayable)and if I turn cockpit lights on, it's even worse.

I re-boot the system b4 playing, and defrag my HD once a week. I see a lot of ppl suffer the same problem. Again, it's only the SU27 (my favorite aircraft) that is suffering from these issues. The other aircrafts I have no complaints.

The system requirements don't say this but they need to revise it, a 2Gig GPU would do wonders for that PC of yours. Its the only thing lacking.

After the graphics update from 1.2.4 I believe it was the sim. uses up gpu mem like mad.
