guitarxe
If I download the training for the SU-25, what should I expect? Is it going to be very low-quality videos with no possibility to rewind or move around like it is for the SU-25T? Also, are there any other tutorials I could rely on to learn? I've seen some on youtube, but those only deal with flying the aircraft, navigating. None of them actually show how to employ weapons. And speaking of employing weapons, exactly how does one actually fly a combat mission in the SU-25? For example, if you were in an A-10C you would fly at a pretty high altitude, and stay far far away from your targets. Most air defences should have been cleared by the time you were called in, so should not have a lot of worry then. If there are any around you target you use your long-range missiles (mavericks I think?) to take them out, then bomb the hell out of those tanks. Any heavier air defences you can call in a SEAD flight to take care of it. But for the SU-25... you ARE the SEAD/DEAD flight. How should you be flying? Britchot
The Su-25T is the SEAD package. The Su-25 does not have the ability to carry the necessary avionics. So the enemy air defenses should be taken care of in much of the same way as the A-10 scenario. I like to fly the Su-25 low and fast, which is good if I have an idea of the engagement zone. If it's all a mystery, I'll go in at the edge of the FLOT and try to spot movement and make attacks at as great of a distance as I can. Britchot
As far as tutorials, I watched all the ones from DCS on Youtube. That allowed me to rewind it if I needed. After that, I just set up one of Dragon's training packs and work my way into engagements little by little. Though most of my time in this sim is spent in 2-4 pilot co-ops or training flights, so I'm not going into many large scale engagements. guitarxe
As far as tutorials, I watched all the ones from DCS on Youtube. Do you happen to have saved a link? I have searched youtube for SU-25 tutorials but haven't seen any from ED. After that, I just set up one of Dragon's training packs and work my way into engagements little by little. I also can't find these. I found the ones for the KA-50, but not for the SU-
k0braka1
You can find the training videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/eagledcs/videos Either scroll down or do a search for the SU-25 within the channel. Their a bit dated as they were originally written for FC2 but all the info should still be relevant. If I'm not mistaken though these are the same as the ones that you can download directly through DCS itself. I'll take a look at those, thanks!
Britchot
Here's a great tutorial on the from Fish. I couldn't get my head wrapped around the lights until I watched him break it down. Here is the Dragon's training pack that I use. I edited the missions to add a pair of Su-25s in the weapons training but that's all. I also have A-10C, UH-1H, and Ka-50 (honestly haven't even sat in the cockpit yet), so it's my little playground. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPU - Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz; Memory - 128KB; 360KB double-sided 5 1/4" full-height floppy disk drive; 10MB Seagate ST-412 hard drive JG-1 MiG-21bis Checklist

I previously saw the navigation video and yes it's quit helpful. May end up trying the Dragon's training packs. Truthfully for me it's spotting vehicles that gives me a world of difficulty. If the ground colour is dark where the unit contrast colour is minimal then It's extremely hard to find the units unless you know exactly where to look. Or sometimes I'll find a unit because I see the tracer fire, pull an evasive maneuver because I need to properly line up a shot or avoid being hit, then when I turn around again I've lost sight of the unit and only have an idea where they are until the fire at me again. I love flying this bird, but man spotting units in dark terrain is fracking hard! 314-я смешанная авиационная дивизия 314th Mixed Aviation Division: The "Fighting Lemmings"- Forums: http://314thsquadron.enjin.com/ - ED Forum Group: http://forums.eagle.ru/group.php?groupid=
