2 seater A/C?

Are we likely to see any 2-seater fighter/bomber A/C in the future with both seats playable? I'd love to relive Top Gun with a human WSO :D

As soon as they sort out the 2 [+] player code...

See Huey and the Mighty 8...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Its the holy grail for many people (myself included) but its not something that is straight forward to implement, AFAIK (not official) it is possible but it probably wont be seen for a long time sadly due to the complexity of getting it to work.

But it will be a total game changer when and if it comes out!

Fingers crossed!! (if you have any uncrossed fingers left)

The Hawk T.1A would be perfect with multicrew support as a trainer! ;)

I hope, we don't have to wait too long for 2-client cockpits ...

Ahhh RIO of course :)

Why is it so hard to implement though? Cockpit controls can be easily modelled and you just need to make the toggling of a switch in the cockpit of one player's AC do a corresponding action in that of the other player or something. Easy, surely :D

I guess the question will be whether there are enough people who want to actually learn the backseat so you have someone to play with :)

I'd actually sit the 2nd seat for a Hind or a few other aircraft. One, it would be a fantastic option for less experienced players to get a feel for a mission, learn the systems, etc. The cooperation would up the coolness factor, and might even make the game "less scary" for those that want into the serious simulations, as a stepping stone. Two, it would make for some excellent "trainer" style play. Finally, getting some hands on with some of the more complex weapon systems without having to fly, etc would be cool as heck.

You know, given the limitations of the netcode required for a truly dual flight control equipped aircraft, a simple 2 seater with a pilot position and an observer position would be better than nothing. The observer and pilot could take turns (missions) swapping seats in order for the instructor to pass along basic concepts and instruction via demonstration and then move into the observer position while the student tries it himself. In a coop, the training mission could be run over and over, as many times as necessary for the student and instructor to swap seats until the student gets it right. All you really need is a full set of instruments in the observer position and ideally, a full set of controls that reacts to the inputs from the pilot position. In this way, the student or instructor can sit there and see what is being done.

Geebus, if Microsoft could do it for FSX in their half a***d attempt at Multicrew I am more than certain ED can do it with one hand tied behind their backs! :D :D :D

And it's GiB anyways... Otherwise known as "the ballast". RIO and WSO... O.o :D :D :D
