Hi Skull,

I definitly plan to release this to the public. Because even I can think of about half a dozen missionscenarios to use this.

But I think, I have to consider this is kind of a sensitive topic.

Besides that, I am far from beeing a real 3D artist or something like that. At the moment this model is realy the opposite of beeing optimized.

I am currently working with a 2048x2048 .bmp as texture. This is 12mb in size. But i think I can reduce it to 1024x1024 without loosing to much of the details.

At the moment this model is realy the opposite of beeing optimized.
You know if we use your building for one mission it's not a problem if the file is big with 2048x2048 .bmp textures because it's just one construction for one mission, no need to install many Bin Laden house, just one it's good.

So please can you created two version of the Bin Laden bunker, one 2048x2048 and 1024x1024 ?

For me I need if it's possible of the 2048x2048 because I really love the details and your beautiful textures, if I landing with my copter close of this house I've need to have the best textures, it's more immersive

 

But I think, I have to consider this is kind of a sensitive topic.
Yes you have right because this house and the person de Bin Laden are enter in the US history and the humanity history also and of course it's a bad souvenir for many people (in fact one real nightmare for the humanity)

 

But I think that I'm not alone to think that your project is a great idea very orginal, but it's not a problem because it's just one simulation not real...

 

I hope that your Mod will be available quickly because I'm so excited, normaly I not a fan of the politic and I don't merge the simulation and reality but in this case and with this Mod I think that I can forget my phylosophy and recreated this story just for my pleasure...

After a lot of work the past month and the pretty stressful holidays, I finally found some time to continue the project.

I currently creating the destructed modell - this is even more challenging then a simply intact house :juggle:

 

 

Are you going to try and do the full compound, with the outer walls and such?

 

My intention was to create the full compound but for the time beeing I am happy if I finish the main building soon - but I hope, sooner or later, the rest will come to life too.

Make separate models for the different components of the compound. Then one can use them more flexible and for other purposes, too. :o)

Hello guys!

 

First of all I want to say thank you! Over the past couple of months I received some messages from guys still looking forward to this one.

I never finished this model, but after all the PM I thought it would be unfair to tease you and never let you bomb it.

So I put the stuff together I've made so far and just give it out to you. Here is a render of the (very basic) destruction model:
