Dagger71
As the title is asking... what is being adjusted when pressing DMS with MAV SOI?? I haven't seen any changes to MAV views.
ENO
According to the manual it should be moving your reticle- but only on "short" inputs. I'm not sure if "slew" and reticle movement is considered the same thing- I scratched my head a bit because I don't recall ever using DMS for MAVs except left long to broadcast spi. Look at your HUD also to make sure the MAV isn't just pointed at open air when you're testing for movement. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. Dagger71
Ya that's what I read as well. Which was why I was asking, cause it definitely won't slew at the same rate as the slew button (even when I change slew rate to 2). In fact I see no difference when using DMS in MAV mode. Eddie
It adjusts the missile boresight. ENO
Is that a system adjustment or do all the mavs need to be adjusted when they're first in line? Any tactical advantage to this capability? Eddie
Well the missiles need to be boresighted on the ground prior to takeoff to ensure thing are correctly aligned/calibrated. One of many, many things not modelled in DCS (although the function works, the reason to use it isn't there). You can also change the boresight in flight so the "caged" position is something other than the normal if you want. Although there is little reason to.
