Cripple
Answer would be 'When it's done' TM.. Excellent point. I shall just wait... impatiently. :P Oooooooo, I was concentrating on the wing tips (or lack thereof) so much that I failed to notice it's the high-back mk IX. Good stuff, ED. (I believe the other Spit in development is clipped and low-backed too...) nervousenergy
I'll be very surprised if they release any new modules before World 2 is out. Though if they did a pre-order tomorrow I'd be in. Spits in any form are great, but I'm one of the rare ones that prefer the clipped wing. Loved flying the clip in 1946 like a boom n zoom plane... hard to get in trouble that way. Hadwell
Loved flying the clip in 1946 like a boom n zoom plane... hard to get in trouble that way. The problem I always had with the clipped is their fuel mix settings, in dcs it's a lot of low flying, even in high altitude planes like the 51/109/190, they keep it pretty low, so I don't think it should be a problem, but I didn't really like flying spits all that much in 1946 cause I had to choose a low alt or high alt variant... LF or HF kinda thing... Edited July 22, 2015 by Hadwell My youtube channel Remember: the fun is in the fight, not the kill, so say NO! to the AIM-120. Decibel dB
If my memory recall right VEAO doing the Spitfire Mk XIV that have normal wings. I am happy we will have both models.
WinterH
VEAO are also doing a clipped wing variant, with an uncertain possibility of normal wings as an option. Harry.R
I see. I hope they do. Thanks I'm sure I read that they are doing a clip wing and possibly a fully wing version if they can get the tech to work. :joystick:

HeadHunter52
Close enough. That's what I tell myself so I don't go nuts. Close enough. Because when it's ready, it's READY. And I doan want no screwball jacked-up rush job. But yeah, I quietly wonder about release dates, too. Cripple
Any news on the cockpit lay-out since the mono-coloured renders? gavagai
Based on the screen shots it looks like the Spit still lacks prop animation. Not sure where that fits in the list of to-dos, but all we have in those images is the external 3D model. Kye
Hello all. Just a quick question. Is the clipped version still coming or is it the full wing version now? I only ask as MH434 has its full wing span back on again. I believe she was clipped for a while. Cheers. :)

So yes, with the clipped version they will need the appropriate scheme. I only ask as MH434 has its full wing span back on again. I believe she was clipped for a while. Cheers. :) She had her full wing put on in the early 60's if I remember correctly due to a short runway she was operating from (higher stall speed on the full wing) She is probably the prettiest airworthy Spitfire imo. Her and Ferocious Frankie together make for quite a sight. Speaking of MH434, here's a good comparison of the two wing designs. Kye
Hmm I think I may have my wires crossed. I felt sure I saw a recent(ish) photo of her clipped. The Mark 8 steals it for me in the looks department. The larger tail gives it a more 'balanced' look to me. Cracking comparison photo!
