Looking really good, except, because all Spitfire IXs were equipped with UHF radios, the aerial wire between the fin and mast had been long gone, meaning the mast didn't have the triangular brace for a wire.

In fact, the aerial wire seldom appeared on in-service RAF Spitfires post late-1940:

A small detail, but worth mentioning.

Look really, really nice and quality model. Apparantly ED have found a way to have both clipped and normal wings.

First impression it is going to be a monster if the AI set to Good is an indication. Not sure if its flight model is similar to the AI flight model of the Mustang in that it fly perfect and never stall or if I'm so out of practice its pathetic.

The Spitfire is waaaaaay early right now, it might not even have its own FM at this point, or its still early. I would stress much about it, and I wouldnt use it too much for missions right now. It could have many problems.

Do we have a definite answer on the possibility of including both the CW and full wing versions?

The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life to experience all three at the same time.

Its been requested.

But it will be a full wing of this variant, it wont make it a high altitude fighter without the bigger engine and such, so there may be performance loss in certain areas with the full wing.

Bigger engine?

All Spitfire IXs used the Merlin engine of 1650ci.

The HF used a 70, we are getting the 66 I believe. Earlier IX used the 61 and 63 as well...

All Rolls-Royce Merlins had a displacement of 1650ci.

The 61 and 70 used a different blower ratios than the 66.

Merlin 66, 5.79:1 & 7.06:1

Merlin 61, 72, 73, 76, 77, 73, 76, 6.39:1 & 8.03:1

Merlin 61 prop reduction ratio, .420:1.

Merlin 66 prop reduction ratio, .477:1.

It works fine as an AI opponent, and it is more challenging to shoot down than the P-51. The AI Spitfire is faster and turns better.

So what is your point? Mine was full wing might hurt the version we get without the addition of other aspects of the HF....

His point is that the 70 isn't bigger, it just has higher power rating. Yup, that's pea counting for you.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

The point is you said: "it wont make it a high altitude fighter without the bigger engine"

There was no bigger engine, just modifications to the engine.

A bigger engine would be the Griffon and then it won't be a Spitfire IX anymore.

Hair splitting... as far as I know all small block chevy engines were the same size, but if I were to quickly explain the difference between a 327 and a 350 I might say the 350 was 'bigger" its more slang than anything, but again... I forgot where I was ;)

I figured as much ... I mean they are still adjusting the K-4 and its been out almost a year. This wasn't a cry for blood but just an observation because it climbed like a king and turned on a dime. I haven't got it to stall yet but it is more challenging than the Mustang.

Yup, honestly, if I was a to wager on it, the Spitfire is in the OB by accident.
