As much as that sucks, at least the lead aircraft is a Spit, and not some non-hacker. I'll take that as a consolation prize and hunt Huns till that fat lady comes along.

I really like ground attack..........

P-47 was not made for ground attack. It had that capability, but the only reason why the plane is so big is that they needed to put that turbo-charger and the big engine for it. It was made purely as a high-altitude fighter, that was capable of escorting bombers. Its best performance is achieved at 8000m. At that altitude range it was even faster than P-51 and deffinitely faster than most German planes. It also had quite a nice maneuvrability for such a big plane.

When P-51 took over the mission of bomber escort and more Mustangs were comming, the P-47 started to be realy a plane that focuses on ground attack. They were all capable of ground attack, just P-47 had high survivability, but as I remember P-38 was rated better as ground pounder, due to smaller nose and clearer picture of the target, which gave greater precision. And it had two engines, so survivability was not so bad either.

I'm aware for that, BUT, I do like its handiness at grinding up ground targets. I like hitting things on the grounds and its capabilities are well known. Plus, my buddy's dad's pals were full of stories about them. I want to see how I do with it. Survivability will make it much more fun than the agile-but-fragile girl we play with now.

Then you should start a thread about it then

I could. I would. It'd be very fun to fly! But at the pace things are progressing at the moment, I don't really want to get hyped that even if it passed, isn't going to be available for another +2 years.

The film underrates the P-51(as usual for RAMJB). April 1944 P-51B&C were aleady in action and even were part of the "big week". German Luftwaffe was still operational and because of the rotation of American fighter groups that escorted the bombers, it was impossible to keep so many fighters in the air at the same time while protecting the bombers. Germans were still inflicting damage and were even reported to outnumber escorts from 2:1 to even 10:1. The real nail to the coffin was Operation Bodenplatte that has destroyed German ability to even go up into the air and do anything stop Allied bombers and that was January 1945.

Whole content about P-47 was realy accurate. I've said it before in this thread. P-47 is primarly a fighter and people who say "I wish for P47 because I want CAS" do more harm than good to the reputation of this awesome combination of toughness and firepower. Sure it was good at it, but it was a great fighter at 6000-8000m and people easily forgett about it. The highest scoring USAAF ace in Europe flew P-47. His name, Francis Gabreski (Franciszek Gabryszewski) a son of a Polish familly that moved to the US. He flew with Polish pilots before US got involved in Europe, he knew Polish (comming from Polish familly).

This is a quite nice doc about his life during WW2.

I still think he originally said pitiouvisipitifronty (the secret answer key to universe), but now tries to cover it up with these nonsense explanations like ""Video which is going to be different" - spoken in proper RAMJB's english xD"

I dont buy it.

Mean or not, that's no accent to narrate a documentary with.

I wanted to watch it, but couldn't understand half of the words because he starts to talk a lot faster after a minute or so, and it go annoying fast.

It's an international community; the sim itself is developed by a mostly Russian team. Can't expect everyone to have an upper-class British accent, you know. [puts on monocle]

The more you speak with people who struggle with English as a second language, the less you'll struggle with accents. As someone who speaks a little German--barely comprehensibly--I can assure you, any non-native English speaker you have trouble understanding, has even more trouble understanding you, because it's more difficult to understand a foreign language being spoken, than to understand your own language spoken with a foreign accent.

I'm giddy to see if ED will actually implement the bombletts that are shown historically to have been used and in your photos Slayer

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.
