grafspee
P-47 was designed to be high alt fighter, but it turned out to be the best all around fighter/bomber doing tremendous work during war. When i look at this gun cam footage,im always amazed how small is gun dispersion, you can see lines of bullet impact from left and right wing, In DCS nothing like this can be seen. Check this out, P-51D 8200 produced,P-47D 12500 produced, German pilots and troops had bigger chance seeing p-47 then p-51 much bigger Edited September 20, 2019 by grafspee System specs: I7 14700KF, Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX 4090,Win 11, 48" OLED LG TV + 42" LG LED monitor

Knock-Knock
Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that we will fly P-47's on bomber escort to Peenemünde in a not so distant future. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

Du, oide Verrückte Sau . .Yeah, that tower you linked would be on the way to Peenemünde. Although, this tower from Warwickshire looks pretty similar too: http://www.eber.se/torn/gb/south-east.htm#coleshill On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/philstylenz Storm of War WW2 server website: https://stormofwar.net/
DD_Fenrir
Could be the Normandy map revamped. Other than the water tower, the buildings don't look particularly English/French/German which makes me think there's a generic set of buildings which look vaguely mid-20th Century European. The topography says little to me; there's a few spots on the Normandy map that at low level can easily replicate this. Speedtrees…? Too early to say. However, I'm fairly sure it's not the current Normandy map.
philstyle
Too early to say. However, I'm fairly sure it's not the current Normandy map. I'd need to re-acquaint myself with the lumpy bits north-east of Tangmere, and the other lumpy bits near St. Lo, in order to fully rule out the existing map. The colour palette is Normandy, but the assets don't look like the Bocage/ beaches area buildings. Knock-Knock
Just had a quick fly around Normandy with CTRL+F11, and I cant recognize a single asset from the screenshot, and I doubt they would totally revamp those for the update. Ground textures and trees are far better in the screenshot (could be the revamp though). Nah, we are looking at the new WWII map. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern / North Germany is my guess. Also a great area for cold war stuff, cause as Wags mentioned at some point, the new WWII map would also be very useful for more modern scenarios. Badders46
If this is a recent screenshot, which is seems to be(?)... It looks fab! I must admit, I have recently bought Il2 for the P-47 and it is just about satisfying my need/want for the Jug, but I will be a day one buyer for a DCS'd Thunderbolt!! Knock-Knock
The Powerpylons are also different.... Nice spot. Those I didnt noticed first time around, but that type I have seen on world war 2 photos, in the French regions. Now I dont know if this design was common around Western Europe back then? For example, Caen area. https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/france/normandy-1944/canadians-advance-on-falaise-pocket-gap/ - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

Knock-Knock
From the newsletter: DCS: P-47 Progress Update One of the most anticipated WWII modules for DCS is the P-47 and we are excited to say it is getting close. We now have a brand new external model and cockpit in final phase of completion and our FM guru Yo-Yo is hard at work on the turbo-compressor unit and remaining FM issues.
