It will be compatible for sure. But will it use DX 10 capabilities? It still doesn't use DX 9.0; and does bad job with DX 8.1 (not optimized special effects) 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

Guest ThomasDWeiss
I had this video for a while now, I thought it showed the Crytek technology for its next FPS - as far as graphics engine is concerned, Lock On is still so demanding, that it will take a couple of years at least before we can run it at max settings, what we need is not even more eye candy IMO, there are other priorities. Shaman
I really like the part when someone drives that truck through some building. I'd love to do that in a game :) 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

The use of DX10 capabilities can reduce de load to the CPU..bether shadder control etc etc... Caretaker
The use of DX10 capabilities can reduce de load to the CPU..bether shadder control etc etc... Yeah the next DX version is always the one where you can get ultimate perfomance with finally no more compatibility issues... been that way since Direct3D 3.0 ;) Caretaker ED Beta Test Team

Totally agree. No more eye candy is really needed. When people have a system capable of running Lomac in all it's glory they will realise the riches of eye candy they have been spoilt with. As Thomas said there are other priorities. :) Intel i7-8700K | Asus Maximus X Formula | Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Gainward Phoenix GTX1070 GLH | Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 1 x 250GB OS & 1 x 500GB Games | Corsair RM750x 750W | Corsair Carbide Air 540| Win10 | Dell 27" 1440p 60Hz | Custom water loop: CPU EK-Supremacy EVO, GPU EK-GTX JetStream - Acetal+Nickel & Backplate, Radiator EK-Coolstream PE 360, Pump & Res EK-XRES 140 Revo D5, Fans 3 x EK-Vardar 120mm & 2 x Corsair ML140 140mm

Caretaker
But back then you needed dedicated APi's for anything more than superficial 3D ;) Not according to Microsoft :D The fact that the first Direct3D-compatible games ran faster in software mode was rather embarrassing. DirectX has certainly matured since then, but I'm still curious to see how #10 will turn out. Caretaker ED Beta Test Team
zaelu
Just got this video showing the directx 10 capabilities volumetric clouds softh particles fully destructive anbient etc I don't think those are DX10 capabilities... those are just crysis game features and they are not new things in 3d Gaming Is just that Crysis game will be fully Dx10 capable... I think you understud it in reverse order and your post is missleading. :icon_jook [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
