Today the new F-15C advanced flight model (AFM) went into beta testing. This new flight model for the F-15C will be used for both Flaming Cliffs 3 and F-15C: DCS Flaming Cliffs. This short little video is provided to show some of the new landing physics (no more glued wheels to the runway!).

Nice work ED, and great crash Wags!

SU-33 up next?:D

Guess I have to get used to realistic Aero Braking and stuff for shorter runways and not just using the SFM Super Brakes.. lol.

Great! so much waiting for AFMs.

Hope they will not forget the mig 29, it's need new external/cockpit models, AFM, sounds etc..like any FC3 fighters.

and Su-33 too, i guess AFM for it will be a bit easier because it's a bit similar to the Su-27 AFM.

and the next level, making all FC3 an High fidelity sims in the future (:

Good Luck ED

SU-27 and SU-33 have different Aero Dynamics, they arent as close as you think they are.

Because of the canards.

That said, I'd say high-quality landing physics are much, much more important for the Su-33 than the Su-27.

SU-33 is heavier, has re-enforced underbody, landing gear, larger wings, Leading Edge, Modified LEXRoot, Slats, flaps, etc for more lift area, canards, different engines, and more moving parts (folding wings etc) that also change the internal skeleton of the wings. Not to mention different CoG/Weight Center due to Adjustments made to Landing Gear, and tail areas.

trust me, they "look" similar, but they are a completely different animal.

I think out of the entire SU-27, the only thing that was retained was the forward Fuselage, everything else is different.

That wasn't exactly the main point of my post—I'll be happy for a Su-27 AFM, but I'd much prefer the Su-33 AFM first, because the SFM is good enough for me in BVR and dogfights, and the improved landing dynamics are so much more important for carrier landings than runway landings.

If the F 15 DCS Flaming Cliffs is now in beta stage as wag post states that means probable release may well be end of December (Christmas) or early new year.

Cant wait !! :)

Can't wait for this, a bit more character is just what that F-15 needs to really make it shine... well and click able cockpit but that is a different conversation.

i dont think so: no left/right differential brakes on A-10A nor Su-25A/T

this will not DCS:Eagle :(

at least not yet
